Chapter 357 Would You Forgive Me?
Deanna’s POV
The more he talked, the less sense it made–until Luis, in peak smug mode, said, ‘So, you don’t need to understand any other werewolf. You just need to understand me.”
Oh, for… He had completely gotten the wrong idea!
God, give me a break.
“Violet and Erik are seeing each other. I’m worried she’ll get hurt. That’s what I was asking about. Where did your brain run off to?”
“Oh.”
At that, his posture loosened; the edge in his eyes faded. “Then it’s … acceptable.”
“Acceptable? Define ‘acceptable. Be specific-“I pressed.

He didn’t let me finish. His hand slid to the back of my head, and he pulled me into a kiss. swallowing the rest of my words.
Coffee on his breath, cedar on his skin–Mila purred in satisfaction inside me.
I looped my arms around his neck and kissed him back, letting myself soften, melt, meet him where he was.
A heartbeat later, he stilled. I opened my eyes and crashed into that dark, dangerous gaze his–heat and warning braided together. Realizing how eager I’d just been made my face flame.
I thumped his chest. “Didn’t you say kissing requires closed eyes? Why weren’t yours closed?”
Luis’s thumb brushed my swollen lower lip; a low laugh rolled through his chest. “Fine. I’ll close them.”
I huffed, turning away, “I’m done.”
He laughed even harder. “My mistake. I shouldn’t have watched you kiss me. I should’ve shut my eyes. Or… I kiss you, and you keep yours open and look right at me.”
My neck went hot at his words,
I muttered awkwardly, “I don’t want to.”
Violet’s words from earlier nudged at me: Be brave. Tell him the truth.
I was lost in my head and didn’t notice he’d already hung up.
His lazy baritone drifted over my head. “Come with me tonight–Bluestone Pack’s Alpha is having a birthday celebration.”
I blinked. “Huh?”
“As the future Luna of the Mooncrown Pack.”
The Mooncrown engagement announcement was out there, but we hadn’t appeared together at anything official yet. Bluestone Pack ran the largest private bank in Nordvale; anyone who mattered in the werewolf finance world would be ther.
When Philip’s Moonline Expansion Project needed loans, Bluestone stamped part of the approval.
I hesitated–and caught the faint fall of disappointment in his eyes. I nodded.
Light flashed in his. He hooked a finger under my chin, teasing. “So obedient. Did you do something bad?”
I stared back at him, testing the waters. “If I did do something bad… would you forgive me?”
