The two men were Carey’s second son, Harrison Barkley, and his third son, Gerald Barkley.

Recently, Mooncrown Corporation and Bluestone Bank had been working toward forming a partnership.

Although Carey hadn’t officially stepped down as Alpha, his energy wasn’t what it used to be, so his sons had taken over most internal pack affairs and business matters.

This particular collaboration had been initiated by Carey, with his sons handling the execution.

The idea was to ride on Mooncrown Corporation’s coattails so Bluestone Bank could get a piece of the pie.

Harrison spoke up. “Ms. Wiley, would you mind if we borrowed Mr. Eaton for a moment?”

Deanna was already embarrassed after realizing people had been watching them, and with the teasing added in, her ears warmed bright red.

Deanna looked at Luis. “Go ahead. I’m going to find Maggie.”

The villa hosting the birthday celebration was up in the hills, and once the party ended, getting Maggie home wouldn’t be easy.

Deanna planned to give her a ride when they left.

Luis brushed his fingers against hers, clearly uneasy about letting her go off alone. “Come find me if anything happens.”

Gerald smiled. “Mr. Eaton and the future Luna really are close.”

Deanna didn’t want to come across as clingy in front of everyone. “I know. I won’t interrupt your business talk.”

In a room on the third floor of the villa, Jennifer stormed in and immediately started throwing things.

“I’m so pissed! I’ve never been humiliated like this in my entire life! Aaahhh!”

Victoria followed behind her, picking up the pillow that had been hurled to the floor. “Alright, Jenni, that’s enough.

“Mr. Eaton is the most elite pure–blooded Alpha in all of Nordvale. Even your grandfather has to show him respect. Why on earth did you go and provoke that woman?”

Jennifer’s face throbbed with pain, her chest tight with fury as she sat down on the edge of the bed. “I just can’t stand women like her!

“Why should everyone bend over backward for some gold–digger just because she latched onto Mr. Eaton?”

Victoria sighed. “That’s how werewolf society works. If you’ve got the skills, go find yourself a powerful Alpha who’ll protect you like that.”

Jennifer scoffed. “The best man in all of Nordvale already got snatched up by her. Where am I supposed to find anyone now?”

“So, Jenni, be a good girl and stop stirring up trouble. We already embarrassed ourselves back there.”

“Mom, my face is killing me and you’re still taking that homewrecker’s side? Are you even my mother?”

Victoria pulled out a special anti–swelling ointment and began applying it to her daughter’s cheeks. “It’s because I’m your mother that I’m telling you to stop making waves. That Omega is pregnant. In Mooncrown Pack, she’s a prized treasure. There’s no point picking a fight we can’t win.”

Jennifer’s eyes went wide, her hand pressed against her swollen cheek. “How is that fair?”

Victoria knew her daughter had been spoiled since childhood and didn’t yet understand these social dynamics. “Because she’s going to be the Luna of Mooncrown Pack.”

“Mr. Eaton is just blind! He got bewitched by that seductress. Mom, I’m pretty too! If I’d met him sooner, maybe I’d be the one standing next to him right now.”

Victoria humored her. “Yes, yes, my daughter is the prettiest. I’ll definitely find you a good man. Besides Mr. Eaton, doesn’t Mr. Olson from Olsendreich Pack still need a mate?”

At that, Jennifer shot to her feet. “Mr. Olson is that homewrecker’s ex! I’m not taking her sloppy seconds.”

Victoria blinked in surprise.
