Jennifer shot them an annoyed glance, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Oh, so you two finally decided to show up, huh?”
Shelby and Amya exchanged a glance before hurrying over, flanking Jennifer on both sides as they began massaging her shoulders.
Amya spoke first. “There wasn’t much we could’ve done to help back there.”
Shelby chimed in. “Exactly. So we figured we’d lay low first, then help you get your revenge behind the scenes.”
Jennifer let out a cold snort. “Easy for you to say. Fine, I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourselves. So how exactly are you planning to help me get even?”
Shelby and Amya smiled awkwardly.
Their talk of revenge had only been a way to pacify the princess of Bluestone Pack.
Even Jennifer had been completely overwhelmed by Deanna. What could two small fry like them possibly do?
Seeing their expressions, Jennifer irritably shook off their hands. “You two are useless cowards!”
Amya quickly said, “Don’t be mad, don’t be mad. Just tell us what you want us to do, and we’ll do it!”
Shelby nodded eagerly. “Yeah, just say the word. We’ll definitely do it.”
The anger in Jennifer’s chest still hadn’t subsided, and she was racking her brain for a way to turn the tables when an idea suddenly struck her. “Actually, there is something you can do for me. Come here.”
Shelby and Amya leaned in closer, and Jennifer whispered in their ears.
When she finished, their faces turned grim.
Shelby, the more timid of the two, spoke hesitantly. “I don’t know about this…”

Jennifer shot her a withering look. “What’s wrong with it?”

Shelby replied softly, “You just insulted her and Mr. Eaton still stood up for her. If something happened to her pup, who knows what Mr. Eaton would do to us when he found out.”
Jennifer scoffed coldly. “If you don’t say anything, who’s going to know it was us? We just find a scapegoat to take the fall–problem solved.”
Amya hesitated, then slowly nodded. “That’s truc. Mr. Eaton only agreed to marry that woman because she got pregnant. If something happened to her pup, he probably wouldn’t even care about her anymore.”
Shelby looked between Jennifer and Amya and asked softly, “So who’s going to do it?”
Jennifer smacked the back of her head with her palm. “If you don’t do it, you can get the hell out of Bluestone Pack!”
Shelby winced from the blow, her head throbbing, and could only nod meekly. “Fine.”
On her way to find Maggie, Deanna called her.
The phone rang several times before Maggie finally picked up.
“Maggie, where are you?”
“Deanna, I’m in the storage shed behind the villa.”
“You were hired as a server. Why’d they send you to the storage shed?”
Maggie stammered on the other end of the line.
Deanna understood immediately. The Bluestone Pack staff were probably targeting Maggie to suck up to Jennifer.
“Forget the job. Come home with me.”
Maggie looked around at the massive metal shelving units stacked floor–to–ceiling with all sorts of supplies, the whole place a chaotic mess.
“The butler said I can’t leave until I finish cleaning this place.”
Deanna replied, “You were hired to be a server tonight, not to do this. They changed your job description without your consent. You don’t have to listen to them.”
