Chapter 371 He Will Definitely Find Me.
Deanna’s POV:

My teeth chattered from the cold; even my words shook. “Don’t … worry. This isn’t blood.”
It was the water I’d just smeared from the floor.
However, because I was wearing a black gown, it wasn’t immediately obvious; in the dim light, it looked like blood.
I was truly freezing–so cold my stomach seized and spasmed, pulsing hard.
So, I didn’t dare move anymore.
Right now, we have to get out of this hellhole quickly.
Otherwise, even if I’m not bleeding now, staying a while longer is a challenge to the pup in my belly.
Maggie braced against the wall and stood up, step by step, walking to the door, pounding hard.
“Anyone there–anyone outside?
“People are locked in here–come save us, please!”
Maggie kept shouting and knocking, but there wasn’t a sound outside.
This warehouse is far from the banquet hall, and it’s halfway up the hill; if no one comes this way, even if we scream ourselves hoarse, no one will know.
Maggie’s face tightened with anxiety; she kept rubbing her arms with her hands to build some heat.
The cold of the freezer room hadn’t eased; after venting cold air for so long, even the outer storage area’s temperature had basically equalized.
Maggie kept pounding on the door–hard enough that her hands must’ve hurt–yet she didn’t stop shouting either.
“Can someone come save us? Deanna’s about to pass out!”
“Maggie, don’t … shout. Save your strength.” My lashes quivered; it felt like a white crust of frost had formed on them.

Maggie felt her way back along the wall to my side.
And in an instant, tears poured down, her sobs hitching.

“It’s me–it’s my jinx. I’ve dragged you into trouble again and again. Deanna, if anything happens to your baby, just kill me.”
As she spoke, she slapped herself hard; her right check flushed and swelled at once.
Her crying made the stabbing in my head worse; I reached out and caught the hand she was using to hit herself.
Our hands, red from the cold, clutched together like they were about to freeze solid.
Maggie gripped back tight, her voice choking. “Deanna, I’m scared–so scared something really happens to you. I yelled for so long, and no one answered–are we going to freeze to death here?”
I said, one word at a time, “We are not going to die.”
Maggie sniffled. “Deanna, how do you know?”
I lifted the corner of my lips in a weak arc and looked at the moonstone bracelet on my
The moonstone bracelet glowed pale yellow in the dark, rippling with light, its luster still bright.
“Luis will come for me.”
I said it very seriously, “He will definitely find me.”
He’s my fated mate; I believe he’ll sense I’ve gone missing.
wrist.
I cupped my belly and whispered, “So, baby, let’s wait together for your daddy to come, okay?”
