Marked By the Pureblood Alpha (Deanna and Luis) novel Chapter 412

Deanna's POV:

The next morning, after a quick wash, I opened the bedroom door and stepped out to see breakfast already laid out on the dining table.

A bowl of steaming oatmeal sat in the center, flecked with finely chopped white truffle, paired with perfectly toasted whole-grain bread on the side.

"Come eat," Luis said as he pulled out a chair.

I walked over and sat down.

I scooped up a spoonful of oatmeal. It was cooked to a silky smoothness, the earthy aroma of truffle blending seamlessly with the warmth of the grains.

This kind of refined, well-balanced breakfast meant he must have gotten up very early.

And yesterday, I'd woken up in the middle of the night again...

Did that mean he barely slept at all?

I lifted my gaze, subtly studying Luis across the table.

There was a faint shadow beneath his eyes, though he still looked composed and alert.

"What's your schedule today?" he asked.

"I have meetings at the office."

"Alright. I'll take you."

After breakfast, Luis drove me to the Mistbane Group building.

He got out from the driver's seat, walked around the front, and opened the passenger door, one hand braced against the roof.

As I stepped out, he casually rubbed my head, his gesture natural and intimate. "Go on. Text me when you're done. I'll come pick you up."

Thinking about how he'd just wrapped up the corporate summit and must have countless matters waiting within Mooncrown Pack and the corporation, I hesitated.

"Won't that be inconvenient?"

Luis looked at me gently. "No. Picking you up is important, too."

I nodded. Before stepping into the elevator, I glanced back and saw him still standing there, not yet back in the car.

He leaned casually against the door, arms crossed, his deep gaze fixed on me, never wavering.

Even from a distance, the indulgence and tenderness in his eyes were unmistakable.

When I entered the company, the receptionist and employees along the way greeted me as usual.

I didn't think much of it and headed straight for my office.

But the farther I walked, the more something felt off.

Why did everyone's eyes look different today?

There was curiosity—and unmistakable gossip—like they wanted to examine me under a magnifying glass.
