Chapter 327
Alpha Ethan’s POV
“Daddy, get up. It’s time for breakfast. We’re waiting for you.”
A tiny voice pulled me out of sleep, soft but persistent. I groaned quietly and turned my head, my eyes still heavy, until a small figure came into view.
Lucian stood beside my bed, his little hands resting on the mattress, his dark eyes watching me closely like a tiny guardian making sure I obeyed.
I slowly opened my eyes fully, and the moment he noticed, his face lit up.
“Daddy!” he exclaimed happily before throwing himself into my arms.
I smiled despite myself and wrapped an arm around him, rubbing his back gently. “Good morning, my Alpha,” I murmured, my voice rough with sleep.
He pulled back slightly, hands on his hips in a way that reminded me painfully of myself. “You’re late,” he said seriously. “Zara and Lyra are already awake. Breakfast is getting cold.”
I sighed and rubbed my forehead. “I’m sorry. Daddy overslept.”
Lucian nodded, accepting my apology far too maturely for a five–year–old. “That’s okay,” he said. “But you’re the one stopping us from eating. That’s not good leadership.”
I blinked, then chuckled softly. “Is that so?”
“Yes,” he replied confidently. “An alpha doesn’t keep his family waiting.”
My wolf stirred inside me, amused and proud.
Like father, like son, my wolf said smugly.
I shook my head slightly, smiling. “Alright, you win. I’ll get up.”
Lucian stepped back immediately. “Good. Go take your bath and come down for breakfast. Don’t keep us waiting again.”
And with that, he turned and walked out of the room as if he hadn’t just ordered the alpha of the pack around.
I stared after him for a moment, stunned… then laughed quietly.
Only five, yet he behaved far beyond his age. Sometimes I wondered if the Moon Goddess herself had carved him carefully, molding leadership into his very bones.
I pushed myself up, wheeling toward the bathroom. The familiar ache in my legs followed me, but I ignored it. I had learned to live with it, learned to move forward regardless.
Quies nothing formal, just something comfortable.
When I wheeled myself out of the room and toward the dining hall, I could already hear voices.
The moment I entered, all eyes turned to me.
Zara and Lyra sat beside Reven, arms crossed, identical looks of disapproval on their faces.
“Well?” Zara said.
Lyra nodded. “We’ve been waiting.”
I raised
my hands in surrender. “I’m sorry. Truly,”
They exchanged a look.
“We don’t accept your apology,” Lyra said flatly.
I sighed. “Then what do you want me to do for you to accept it?”
They both slid their chairs back slightly and reached behind them.
My brows furrowed as they brought out a neatly folded paper and placed it on the table in front of me.
“What’s this?” I asked.
“A contract,” Zara said proudly.
“A very important one,” Lyra added.
I unfolded the paper and began to read.
CONTRACT OF PROMISE
I, Alpha Ethan, promise to spend quality time with my children Lucian, Zara, and Lyra like other fathers do.
I promise not to be too busy every day.
I promise to eat breakfast with them when possible.
I promise to play with them and listen to them.
Failure to comply will result in punishment, including but not limited to:
Silent treatment
Mummy being angry
No hugs

I stared at the paper for a long moment.
“… Who drafted this?” I asked slowly.
“That’s private,” Zara replied quickly.
Lucian nodded. “Very private.”
I looked at Raven.
She was trying and failing not to smile.
“So,” Lyra said, tapping the paper. “You sign, or we and Mummy will not talk to you again.”
I sighed dramatically. “That’s blackmail.”
Lucian tilted his head. “Effective blackmail.”
I chuckled, took the pen, and signed my name at the bottom.
“Happy?” I asked.
They beamed.
Breakfast finally began, and for the first time in a very long while, the dining hall felt alive.
Laughter filled the air. Zara talked endlessly, Lyra teased Lucian, and Lucian argued back with facts that made us all laugh.
Raven watched them quietly, her eyes soft, her lips curved in a gentle smile.
I hadn’t realized how much I’d missed this–us.
When breakfast ended, I excused myself to work.
Hours passed quickly as I handled pack matters, meetings, reports—everything that came with being Alpha. But my mind kept drifting back to the breakfast table, to the sound of laughter, to Raven’s smile.
When I was done, I wheeled myself toward Raven’s room.
I knocked once before entering.
She was on her bed, phone in hand, scrolling through something. She looked up when I entered.
Without a word, I rolled closer and leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her lips.
She blinked. “Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be working?”
“I was,” I said. “But I came to tell you something.”
She dropped her phone and turned fully toward me, giving me her full attention.
“I’ve been invited to a ball,” I said. “And I’d love for you to come with me.”
She stared at me for a moment. “Is that all?”
I nodded. “Yes.”
“I’m not coming.”
The words hit harder than I expected.
My chest tightened. “Why?”
“I don’t have a reason,” she said calmly.
I nodded slowly. “Okay.”
