Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 340

Chapter 340

Raven’s POV

I stood there frozen, my body rigid as the Rough King advanced toward me, his every step echoing like a death sentence on the stone floor of his study.

His eyes were red, a flicker of disgust and anger burning in them, and for the first time since I’d come here, I saw him not as untouchable, not as this cold, immovable force, but as someone shattered, someone in pain.

And that made me tremble even more.

How dare you come into my study? His voice cut through the air like a whip, sharp and unforgiving.

II just wanted to-I began, my voice trembling as I tried to explain myself, but he cut me off with a glare that could have frozen fire.

You wanted to do what?he demanded, taking another step closer. Serve me lunch? And who told you I eat in my study? Who permitted you to come here?

Ione of the maids told me,I stammered, desperation catching in my throat. She said you instructed her to bring your lunch here.”

His gaze shifted abruptly from me to the shattered remnants of a photo on the floor. My stomach knotted as I saw him stoop, pick up the broken frame, and then the pieces of his phone, his face unreadable.

He pushed me away roughly as he held the broken objects.

Not only did you come into my study,he said, his voice unnervingly calm, you also touched my things. Now, the only photo of my family my family that your mate took from me is gone.

I could see the raw, piercing pain in his eyes, and for the first time, the sight of him like this made my knees weaken. I tried to speak, tried to explain..

I’msorryI didn’t mean to break it,I whispered, my voice trembling as the weight of the situation pressed down on me.

Will your sorry bring back the photo? His slap was sharp, cutting through the room, and my head snapped to the side as pain flared across my cheek. I stumbled back, clutching my face as tears stung my eyes.

He stood there, calm, his expression unreadable, yet the surrounding air vibrated with controlled fury. I realized then that he was midlinking someone, reaching through the wolf bond, and the thought made my chest tighten with fear. I had no idea who he was contacting, and the mystery of it made me shiver with dread.

Minutes passed like hours. The room felt suffocating. Then, a sharp knock at the door echoed. His voice called, Come in.

Without warning, two guards entered the room silently, their faces hard and expressionless. Before I could react, they grabbed me, hauling me roughly from the study. My body slammed against them with each step as I tried to plead, to resist, but they ignored my cries..

Where are you taking me?I yelled, my voice cracking.

The guards said nothing. The only answer was the sound of my own heartbeat pounding in my ears as they dragged me down cold stone corridors.

Finally, they stopped before a heavy, dark door. One guard pushed it open with a stove, and I stumbled into the room, barely keeping my balance.

The door slammed shut behind me with a resounding thud.

Chapter 340

The room was almost pitchblack, a single thin ray of light cutting through a small opening near the window.

50 vouche

The floor was littered with large ants, their black bodies glinting in the dim light as they scuttled across the room with unnerving precision.

I froze against the wall, wrapping my arms around myself, trying to control the panic clawing at my chest. The ants began to move toward me, drawn by my scent, and I felt a cold, crawling terror ripple through my body.

I tried to scream, but the sound caught in my throat as the first ant bit my leg. The pain was sharp, almost electric, and I stumbled back, hitting the wall.

More ants swarmed me, crawling over my arms and legs. I tried to swat them away, to crush them under my hands, but they kept coming, relentless.

Breath became a struggle. The room had almost no ventilation, and the heat from the bodies of the ants mixed with my own rising panic, making my lungs burn. I fought to breathe, to scream, to survive, but every movement seemed to provoke more bites.

Alpha Ethan!I shrieked, the name tearing out of me despite knowing it was impossible for him to save me here.

I wanted to believe he could appear and snatch me from this nightmare, but deep down, I knew I was utterly alone.

My wolf spoke inside me, a whisper in the chaos: You need to be alivefor himfor the kidsfor yourself.

I gasped, trying to hold on, even as the pain and exhaustion threatened to drag me under. I knowI knowI whispered between screams, tears streaking my dirtmeared face. But I don’tI don’t think I can endure this

The wolf’s voice was insistent, urgent: Be strong, Raven. Survive. You will have your revenge.

I tried to focus on that, tried to grasp onto some shred of purpose as my body shook violently from the bites, the fatigue, the fear. But even the thought of revenge seemed distant, a flicker I couldn’t hold onto. My legs buckled. My arms fell limp.

My vision blurred. I collapsed onto the floor, the ants crawling over me, biting, stinging, marking me with pain.

My eyes fluttered closed. My body began to give up. The darkness behind my eyelids was a welcome relief from the nightmare, untilI heard it.

The door. Opening.

A male voice whispered through the darkness. Soft. Gentle. Concerned.

Are youokay? I’m so sorry for thisI didn’t

mean

I couldn’t see him. My eyes were swollen from bites, tears, and exhaustion. I couldn’t speak, couldn’t respond, couldn’t even lift my hands. My mind teetered on the edge of consciousness.

The voice repeated, this time closer, shaking me ever so slightly: Are you okay? Pleasestay

I felt warmth. A presence. But my body, broken and battered, could no longer respond. My head rolled to the side as the blackness claimed me completely.

I fainted.
