Chapter 361
Reven’s POV
“What have you done, Reven?” the Rough King asked, his voice cold and sharp like a blade pressert against my threat.
I didn’t answET.
Silence was the only thing I had left that still belonged to me.
The study was too quiet, the kind of quiet that screamed danger fis eyes burned into me, dark and furious, erarching my face for fear, for regret, for submission.
He would find none. I lifted my chin slightly, refusing to give him the satisfaction.
The slap came without warning.
Pain exploded across my face, my head snapping to the side as the force sent me stumbling back a step. A metallic taste filled my mouth, and for a moment, the world spun.
My ears rang, but even through the haze, I heard him breathe out harshly, as if hitting me had not eased his anger at all.
Slowly, I turned my face back to him.
And then I slapped him back.
The sound echoed through the room like a gunshot.
Gasps erupted from the guards standing near the walls. No one had ever dared to touch him like that. No one.
My palm burned, but I welcomed the pain.
“Your little slut accused me of stabbing her,” I said, my voice steady despite the chaos raging inside me. “So I did exactly what she accused me of doing.”
His eyes widened for a fraction of a second before rage consumed him completely.
“How dare you slap me?” he roared.
He raised his hand again, but this time he didn’t strike. Instead, he turned sharply toward the guards. “Take her away. Lock her in the dungeon.”
My heart thudded, but I did not beg.
“She needs to be taught a lesson she won’t forget,” he continued, his voice dripping with venom. “I’ve grown too soft on her. That’s why she’s grown wings. That’s why she thinks she can raise her hand against me.”
The guards grabbed my arms roughly.
As they dragged me away, I smiled to myself.
It won’t be long, I thought. You’ll be stripped of your title… or killed.
And I would be the reason.
The dungeon smelled of damp stone, rust, and old suffering.
They threw me inside like trash and slammed the heavy iron door shut behind me. The echo of metal against metal rang

“Who are you?” I asked sharply. “What do you want?”
He hesitated, then stepped closer. “I just came to tell you something.”
I narrowed my eyes. “Tell me what?”
“Your mate is coming for you.”
My breath caught.
“What?” I whispered. “How do you know me? How do you know he’s coming?”
He didn’t answer right away. When he finally spoke, his voice was low, almost cautious. “I don’t have time to explain. I only know he’s coming. You should get ready.”
“Ready for what?” I demanded.
But he was already walking away.
I stared after him, confusion swirling violently inside my chest.
My mate?
How would he know I was here? How would he know I was alive?
Unless…
Unless he does know.
Unless he had felt it. The pull. The bond. The truth.
Hope sparked inside me, small but dangerous.
He’s coming to get me.
The thought warmed something deep inside my chest–something I had buried to survive.

Then I shook my head.
Focus, Reven
This wasn’t the time to dream. I needed strength. I needed clarity. I needed revenge.
I shouldn’t have let Sabrina mistake my calmness for weakness. had shown her exactly who I was, and I didn’t regret it.
Still, a voice in my head whispered that sometimes ignoring people was smarter than confronting them.
“I know,” I murmured to myself. “I know.”
I rested my head against the wall and closed my eyes.
Sleep claimed me despite everything.
Light woke me.
Thin beams filtered through a small barred window near the ceiling, cutting through the darkness like knives. My eyes fluttered open slowly, my body stiff and sore.
Morning.
I shifted–and froze.
A low growl echoed through the dungeon.
My heart slammed violently against my ribs.
I turned my head toward the far end of the cell.
A German Shepherd stood there.
Big.
Muscular.
Awake.
Its red eyes locked onto me with terrifying focus, as if it had been waiting for me to open my eyes.
Fear flooded my veins.
“No… no… no,” I whispered.
The dog took a step forward.
I scrambled backward, my hands scraping against the stone floor as I crawled to the opposite end of the dungeon.
“Please,” I begged, my voice breaking. “Please…”
The dog growled again, saliva dripping from its mouth.
I pressed myself against the wall, shaking violently. My heart pounded so loudly I was sure it could hear it.
“Stay back.” I cried. “Please don’t.”
It lunged

Just as darkness began to creep into my vision, the dungeon door burst open.
“Enough.”
The dog was yanked back abruptly.
I collapsed onto the floor, gasping, trembling, my entire body on fire.
A guard stood there, holding the leash.
“Get up,” he said flatly. “The Rough King wants to see you.”
Relief crashed over me so hard I almost cried.
I forced myself to stand, my legs barely holding me up, and followed him out of the dungeon as the door slammed shut behind us.
His room was quiet.
Too quiet.
He lay on his bed, scrolling through his phone, looking calm too calm for a man who had just tried to kill me.
My hands trembled at my sides as I stood before him.
He looked up slowly, his gaze sweeping over my torn, bloodied body.
“Have you learned your lesson?” he asked casually.
I lifted my head. “No.”
His lips curved into a slow, dark smile.
“I love your courage,” he said. “You should keep it.”
Then his eyes hardened.
“But if you don’t want to obey… if you don’t want to be submissive… you’ll receive more punishment.”
He stood, stepping closer.
“I will break you,” he whispered. “Until you can’t move. Until you have nothing left.”
