Reven’s POV

I returned to the mall and handed in my report on the delivery, how the goods reached the client safely, how satisfied he seemed, and every tiny detail written as neatly as I could manage despite the fatigue pressing behind my eyes.
The manager barely looked at me.
She flipped through the pages, nodded once, then dropped them onto her desk as if they weighed nothing.
“You can go.”
No, thank–you.
No acknowledgment.
Just dismissal.
I swallowed whatever response had risen in my throat, murmured a quiet “Thank you, ma,” and turned away.
By the time I stepped out of the office, the wall clock read 3:07 p.m.
My heart skipped.
Four o’clock.
Alpha Ethan’s house.
A strange knot formed in my stomach not fear exactly, but not comfort either.
I had agreed to help with his children during the evenings. It sounded simple enough when he said it. Just supervision. Company. Care.
But nothing about Alpha Ethan ever felt simple.
As I walked toward the exit, I checked my phone absentmindedly.
One unread message.
Unknown number.
A chill slid down my spine for no reason at all as I opened it.
Stay at the mall parking lot and wait. My driver will come pick you up. Alpha Ethan.
I stared at the screen.
Of course.
Why did I expect anything else?
“I could have taken a cab,” I muttered under my breath.
But arguing with a message was pointless.

Chapter 390
With a sigh, I stepped outside into the late–afternoon heat and made my way toward the parking lot.

The sun hung low, casting long golden shadows across the asphalt. Cars moved in and out, engines rumbling, horns blaring, shoppers pushing carts toward their vehicles.
I stood near a light pole, clutching my bag, feeling oddly improper, like I was waiting for something far bigger than a ride.
My mind drifted, unwillingly, toward the children.
He has three.
I had only met one Lucian.
Sweet, quiet Lucian with those haunted eyes that had looked far too old for his small face.
“I miss my mom.”
His words from that night, the anniversary, echoed painfully in my chest.
What about the other two?
How would they see me?
Would they resent me?
Ignore me?
Reject me?
Or worse hope.
–
I hope I couldn’t fulfill.
“Don’t overthink,” I whispered to myself, wrapping my arms around my middle.
But my thoughts kept spiraling.
Maybe they needed someone.
Maybe they just wanted warmth, normalcy, and affection.
Maybe I needed them too.
A strange ache stirred in my chest, something deep, hollow, and yearning.
I had no memory of my past, no family, and no roots
Perhaps caring for them would show me what it felt like to belong somewhere
To matter to someone.
“I’ll try my best,” I murmured. “That’s all I can do”
A sharp car horn snapped me out of my thoughts
I looked up.

Chapter 390
A sleek black car had pulled up directly in front of me, so polished it reflected the sky like a mirror.
Even 1, someone who knew absolutely nothing about cars, could tell this wasn’t ordinary.
This was the kind of car you saw in movies or owned by billionaires.
I hesitated.
Was it for me?
Or just another shopper parking?
The tinted window slid down smoothly.
A man’s voice came from inside.
“Are you Miss Reven?”
I blinked.
“Yes?”
“I’m Alpha Ethan’s driver. I was sent to pick you up.”
Oh.
Of course.
Heat crept up my neck.
“I–yes. That’s me.”
“Please get in. We must arrive at the packhouse by exactly four o’clock.”
His tone wasn’t rude, just extremely serious.
“Even a minute late would cause trouble.”
“Oh, sorry!”
I hurried toward the door, fumbling with the handle-
-and it opened by itself.
My jaw dropped.
“Wow…”
I slipped inside cautiously

The interior felt less like a car and more like a private lounge. Soft leather seats, dim ambient lighting, and the faint scent of something clean and expensive.
Cool air wrapped around me instantly, soothing the sweat on my skin
Without realizing it, my shoulders relaxed.

“You may rest if you wish,” the driver said politely. “I will inform you when we arrive.”
I didn’t even try to pretend I wasn’t exhausted.
“Thank you…”
I leaned my head against the window, watching the city blur past.
The steady hum of the engine, the cool air, the quiet…
My eyelids grew heavy.
And before I knew it, darkness pulled me under.
The nightmare came immediately.
It always did.
A man stood in front of me tall, blurred, faceless, yet painfully familiar.
–
“Come back,” he pleaded. “Please… come back to us.”
His voice broke on the last word.

“To us?”
“To me… to your
children.”
My chest tightened.
“I don’t know you,” I whispered. “How do you know me?”
“You’re my mate.”
The word echoed like thunder.
“And the mother of my children.”
My breath hitched.
“That’s impossible. I don’t remember you. I don’t remember any children.”
Pain flashed through his voice like a blade.
“I never thought… you would forget us so quickly.”
“I don’t know how to come back,” I said helplessly. “I don’t even know where you are.”
Silence.
Then-
“When you return… I’ll explain everything.”
A cold wind swept between us.

“But how?” I cried. “I don’t know you!”
His voice shattered.
“I’ll wait… no matter how long it takes.”
Darkness swallowed him.
“WAIT-!”
A gentle touch on my shoulder pulled me awake.
I gasped, sitting upright.
Sweat clung to my skin. My heart hammered violently against my ribs.
The driver watched me through the rearview mirror.
“Are you alright, miss?”
“Yes… just a bad dream.”
“Understood. We have arrived.”
I looked out the window.
And froze.

A massive mansion stretched before me white stone glowing under the afternoon sun, tall columns framing the entrance. manicured gardens spreading endlessly around it.
Fountains sparkled. Security gates loomed. Guards stood stationed like statues.
It looked less like a home…
…and more like a palace.
“Oh my God…”
I stepped out of the car slowly, craning my neck upward.
“This is where he lives?”
“Yes, miss.”
My mind struggled to process the scale of it.
Maybe I had seen something like this before, in a forgotten past
But right now, this was the largest, most luxurious house I had ever seen.
The driver gestured politely.
“Please follow me.”
I nodded, clutching my bag, and trailed behind him.

Inside was even more overwhelming.

Marble floors gleamed like mirrors. Chandeliers cascaded from high ceilings like frozen waterfalls of crystal. Paintings – real paintings, not cheap prints – lined the walls.
Everything smelled faintly of polish, flowers, and wealth.
My footsteps echoed embarrassingly loud.
Servants moved quietly through the halls, glancing at me with curious, assessing looks.
Whispers followed.
Who is she?
That must be her…
She’s back…
She looks different…
I lowered my head, pretending not to notice.
The driver led me deeper into the mansion, away from the grand halls and into a quieter wing.
We stopped at a large wooden door.
He knocked.
A voice came from inside.
Enter.”
The driver opened the door and stepped aside.
Please go in.”
Alpha Ethan sat behind a desk, laptop open before him, several files spread neatly across the polished surface
The room screamed authority – dark wood, floor–to–ceiling shelves, subdued lighting.
His workspace.
My throat tightened.
‘Good afternoon,” I said softly.
His gaze lifted.
And locked onto me.
