Chapter 395
Alpha Ethan’s POV
“Take the short route home,” I ordered.
“Yes, Alpha,” the driver replied immediately, pressing harder on the accelerator.
The city lights streaked past the tinted windows in long ribbons of gold and white, blurring into nothing as the car out through the night. My entire focus was on the woman in my arms.
Reven.
She was burning up against me skin flushed, breath shallow, body trembling with a restless urgency that had nothing to do with comfort.
Heat radiated from her like a fever, seeping through my clothes, invading my skin, and settling somewhere dangerously low- in my gut.
Her fingers curled into my shirt, clutching the fabric as if it were the only thing keeping her tethered to reality
“Ethan…” she whispered, her voice thick, fragile, and desperate all at once.
“I’m here,” I said quietly, tightening my hold.
Her head tipped back against the seat, exposing the delicate line of her throat. The movement sent a sharp pulse of awareness through me unwanted, unwelcome, but impossible to ignore.
“I want you,” she breathed. “I can’t hold on any longer.”
My jaw clenched so hard it ached.
“No, Reven. You don’t want me. It’s the drugs talking.”
Her eyes found mine glassy, unfocused, but burning with raw, aching need that made my chest tighten painfully.
“I don’t care,” she said, her voice breaking. “Ethan, please… I want you.”
Every protective instinct inside me roared.
“I can’t,” I said, forcing each word out slowly. “I won’t take advantage of you like this.”
She whimpered softly, shifting closer, pressing into my side as if she could crawl inside my skin, seeking relief, safety anything.
“Please…”
“Hold on until we get home,” I murmured. “Just hold on.”
She nodded weakly, but her hands had already started moving–tracing slow, wandering lines across my chest, fingertips brushing through the fabric as if mapping the shape beneath it. Each touch was light, unfocused, innocent in intention. devastating in effect.
My pulse jumped.
My wolf stirred.

I caught her wrists gently but firmly, stilling her hands.
“Stop, Reven. This isn’t the time.”
Her brows pulled together in frustrated confusion.
“Then when is the right time?” she asked hoarsely.
“When you’re in your right mind.”
“I can’t wait for that,” she whispered. “Just… make it stop.”
My throat went dry.
“Reven-”
“No, baby, I won’t regret it,” she insisted.
Baby.
The word landed somewhere deep, somewhere dangerous.
Before I could respond, the driver spoke.
“We’re home, Alpha.”
The car rolled to a smooth stop, slicing through the tension like a blade.
I exhaled slowly.
“Good girl,” I murmured, brushing her hair back. “We’re here.”
She nodded, sagging against me as if her strength had finally given out.
I stepped out and lifted her into my arms. She curled against my chest immediately, burying her face into my neck, her breath hot against my skin.
The pack house doors opened before I reached them.
Matthew intercepted me halfway inside.
“Ethan? What’s wrong?”
“Reven was drugged.”
His expression darkened instantly. “By who?”
“I don’t know yet. I’ll deal with it later. Right now she needs to be safe.”
Matthew stepped closer, assessing her condition with sharp, clinical focus.
“Where were you when it happened?”
“I stepped out to take a call.”
His jaw tightened. “You left her alone?”

“This is not the time,” I snapped. “She comes first.”
He exhaled sharply. “Fine. Just make her comfortable. It looks like an overdone?
“I know,”
He moved aside.
My bedroom door slammed shut behind us.
Silence fell heavy, intimate, dangerous.
I laid her on the bed, but the moment my arms loosened, panic flashed across her face and the grabbed my shirt again
“Don’t go.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” I said, sitting beside her.
Her breathing was erratic, her body trembling in small, uncontrollable waves.
“Hot…” she murmured.
“I know.”
I carried her into the bathroom and filled the tub with warm water, steam curling into the air until the mirrors blurred
Lowering her into the water, I stepped in behind her, bracing her against my chest so she wouldn’t slip under
Her skin was scorching.
She sagged against me, panting, her head falling back onto my shoulder.
But the water didn’t calm her.
If anything, it heightened everything.
She clung tighter.
“Make it stop,” she pleaded, fingers digging into my arms hard enough to bruise.
I swallowed.
“I can’t.”
“Why?”
Because the only real cure would cross a line I refused to cross.
“Because I want you to choose it,” I said quietly. “Not be forced by something in your bloodstream.”
“I do choose,” she whispered weakly. “Please…”
My restraint was unraveling thread by thread.
“Okay,” I said finally, “We’re getting out.”

I lifted her from the tub, wrapped her in soft towels, and carried her back to the bed.
Her arms looped around my neck, holding on as if lettingen would send her drifting into something hate wh cutove.
I set her down gently, but she followed, hands fisting in my shirt, pulling me dover
Control.
I removed my underwear quickly, not out of urgency, but because the worked fabric was inelers then slid under for convers beside her, pulling her into my arms.
She pressed against me immediately, seeking warmth, reassurance, and grounding,
I cupped her face, forcing her gaze to meet mine.
“Listen to me,” I said softly. “I’m not going to hurt you. I’m not going to use you. I’m just going to help you through this
Her breathing hitched.
“Okay…”
I kissed her lips slowly as she held my shoulders, pulling me closer to her while deepening the kiss. She moaned softly between breaths.
I broke the kiss, leaving us both breathless, and moved to her neck, kissing her deeply. She moaned in pleasure, gripping the sheets for support. I trailed my kisses down to her breasts and took her left nipple into my mouth.
“Oh, fuck… I’ve missed her so much.”
I sucked gently until it hardened and flushed, then released it. I didn’t want to rush anything because I didn’t plan on having sex with her only to pleasure her and help ease the effects of the drug in her system.
“Ethan…” she called my name in a low, seductive voice,
“Yes, wifey?” I replied, my voice rough as my hand slid lower. She was already wet beneath my touch, heat pooling against my palm.
“Please… I want your mouth down there,” she said, her voice trembling with desperate need
“How badly do you want me, wifey?” I asked, a faint smirk tugging at my lips despite the tension in my body.
