Chapter 400
Reven’s POV
For a moment, I couldn’t breathe.
Everything in front of me felt unreal, like I had walked into a nightmare that belonged to someone else.

Edna was being restrained by two guards, her arms twisted behind her back. Her face was pale, eyes wide, but when she saw me, something else appeared there too.
Fear for me.
Alpha Ethan stood a few feet away, a gun hanging loosely at his side, his posture rigid, his expression carved from cold
stone.
My heart lurched painfully.
“Ethan…” My voice came out thin, almost unrecognizable. “What… what is going on?”
No one answered.
The silence pressed against my chest until it hurt to inhale.
Edna struggled weakly. “Reven, go back inside,” she said urgently. “You shouldn’t be here.”
That was enough.
Something was terribly wrong.
My gaze moved from her restrained wrists… to the guards‘ hard faces… to the weapon in Ethan’s hand.
“You brought guards,” I said faintly. “And a gun… to her house?”
His jaw flexed.
“Move aside.”
“No.”
The word slipped out before I could stop it.
His eyes snapped to mine, dark and dangerous.
“Reven.”
“Let her go.”
“This does not concern you.”
“It does,” I shot back, my voice cracking. “She’s my friend!”
Edna shook her head frantically. “Reven, don’t.““Enough,” Ethan said, his voice low but sharp enough to slice through the air.
The ground beneath my feet suddenly felt unstable.

His gaze locked onto mine searching, probing, relentless.
“I asked her a question,” he said. “She refused to answer”
“What question?”
Silence.
Then something cold slid through my stomach.
Understanding.
“Oh…” My lips trembled. “You found out.”
His expression didn’t change.
“Found out what?” he asked.
My hands began to shake.
For days, everyone had been circling the truth like it was something poisonous. Pretending there might be another explanation.
There wasn’t.
And now he was hurting the only person who had protected me.
Something inside me hardened.
“Since you want to know so badly,” I said hoarsely, stepping forward. “Yes.”
Edna’s eyes widened. “Reven, don’t—”
“Yes,” I repeated, louder. “I lost my memory.”
The words fell into the air like a bomb.
No one moved,
No one spoke.
Ethan stared at me as if he hadn’t understood.
“I don’t remember you,” I continued, my voice trembling despite my effort to stay steady. “I don’t remember the chuden. I don’t remember this pack, this house… any of it.”
My throat burned.
“I don’t remember being your wife.”
The words hurt more than I expected.
Edna sobbed quietly behind me.
“I woke up in a hospital,” I said. “Confused. Alone. In pain. They told me I had been in a coma for three months. That had nearly died

Ethan’s hand tightened around the gun, but he didn’t interrupt.
“They said my memory might come back… or it might not.” I went on. “There was no guarantee.”
My chest rose and fell unevenly.
“I didn’t leave you,” I whispered. “I didn’t abandon the kids. I didn’t choose to walk away.”
Tears blurred my vision, but I forced myself to keep looking at him.
“I simply… don’t remember any of you.”
The world felt impossibly quiet.
Then his voice came – low, dangerous, almost disbelieving.
“Then why didn’t you tell me?”
The question cut deeper than anything else he had said.
I swallowed hard.
“Because…” My fingers curled into my palms. “Because you didn’t give me the chance.”
His brows drew together.
“What does that mean?”
My chest tightened painfully.
“When I first came here,” I said slowly, “you didn’t ask me what happened.”
His expression darkened.
“You told me what happened.”
Silence fell again.
“You said I left,” I continued, my voice shaking now. “You said I abandoned you. Abandoned the children. That I walked away without looking back.”
Edna squeezed my hand.
“And the way you said it…” I whispered. “It sounded like you had already decided who I was.”
My eyes burned.
“You didn’t look at me like someone who wanted answers. You looked at me like someone who had already judged me.”
Ethan’s face went very still.
“I thought…” My voice cracked. “I thought if I told you I didn’t remember anything, you wouldn’t believe me. You’d think I was lying. Making excuses.”
Because why would a woman forget her own children?

Why would she forget her mate?
Why would she forget a life that apparently meant everything?
“I didn’t want you to hate me more than you already did. I admitted softly.
The words fell between us like something fragile breaking.
“So I kept quiet.
My breathing came out uneven
“I wanted time. Time to see if something would come back. Time to understand what kind of life I had walked into.
I shook my head helplessly.
“But nothing came back. Just emptiness.”
The wind stirred faintly, carrying the scent of dust and distant rain.
