We both danced as if we knew each other. I allowed him hold my waist as we moved in the rhythms of the music. “I’m Daniel,” he said later, as we sat down.

“Reven,” I replied.

We talked.

We laughed.

We drank.

And somewhere in between

Something started to feel off.

Chapter 409

At first, I ignored it.

Maybe it was just the alcohol.

Maybe I had too much.

But the feeling didn’t go away.

It got worse.

My head started to hurt.

My vision blurred slightly.

“You okay?” Daniel asked.

“I’m fine,” I said quickly.

He nodded, handing me another drink.

I should have said no.

I wanted to say no.

But for some reason

I took it.

And drank.

Slowly at first.

Then all at once.

The moment I dropped the glass, a sharp pain shot through my head.

I winced, holding my temples.

My heart started beating faster.

Too fast.

My breathing became uneven.

What was happening?

My vision blurred more.

The lights around me stretched and twisted.

Voices became distant echoes.

“Oh no…” I whispered to myself.

Did I drink too much?

That didn’t make sense.

This felt… different.

Stronger.

Wrong.

I needed my phone.

I needed Edna.

Or Sophia.

My bag.

Where was my bag?’

“With Sophia,” I murmured weakly.

I turned to Daniel, my voice shaky. “I I need to find Sophia…”

He nodded. “I’ll help you.”

I tried to stand.

But the moment I did

The world tilted.

My legs gave out beneath me.

It felt like something hit me.

Or maybe… I just couldn’t feel my body anymore.

I was falling.

Falling fast.

But I didn’t hit the ground.

Instead

Strong arms caught me.

Everything around me faded.

The music.

The lights.

The voices.

All gone.

Chapter 410

I moved to another. Same question.

Same answer.

“No.”

“No. I haven’t.”

“Sorry.”

Each response chipped away at my patience.

I pulled out my phone again, glaring at the screen. “This is the right address,” I muttered under my breath. “I’m at the ri place… so how the hell is she not here?”

Or worse…

What if she was here and no one noticed?

A cold feeling settled in my chest.

I pushed through the crowd, moving from one end of the club to the other, asking anyone who looked remotely aware of their surroundings.

Nothing.

No one had seen her.

And the more time passed, the tighter something twisted inside me.

“Why can’t she just stay out of trouble?” I growled under my breath.

That’s when I spotted him-the manager.

The moment his eyes landed on me, he froze.

Good.

Fear made things easier.

I walked straight up to him, slow and deliberate.

“H-how can I help you, Alpha?” he stammered, his voice shaky.

A small smile tugged at my lips. “Seems you know who I am. That makes this easier.”

He swallowed hard.

“I want to search the rooms,” I said plainly.

His eyes widened. “That’s… that’s a hard request, Alpha. We have guests important guests. We can’t just”.

I slammed my hand against the table.

The loud bang echoed, silencing the nearby chatter.

“Name your price.”

He opened his mouth, hesitation flickering in his eyes.

“Five hundred thousand dollars.”

The words dropped like a bomb.

Silence.

Pure shock washed over his face.

“… It’s a deal, Alpha,” he said almost immediately.

A smirk formed on my lips.

“I thought you were different,” I murmured under my breath.

Money. It always came down to money.

Pathetic.

“Lead the way.”

We moved quickly toward the room area, away from the noise of the club.

First room empty.

Second empty.

Third

The door opened to reveal two girls tangled together on the bed.

I immediately shut it, my face twisting in disgust. “Move.”

The manager nodded quickly, sweat forming on his forehead as we continued.

Room after room.

Nothing.

No, Reven.

My patience snapped.

I grabbed the manager by his collar, slamming him lightly against the wall. “Don’t you have other rooms?”

He nodded rapidly. “Y-yes! There’s one more, but it’s at the far end. It’s hardly used.”

“Take me there. Now.”

We moved fast.

And as we approached, I heard it.

A sound.

Struggling.

A muffled protest.

My heart slammed violently against my ribs.

The door wasn’t locked.

I didn’t think.

I didn’t hesitate.

I burst in.

And everything inside me snapped.

“How dare you touch her?” I snarled, punching him again and again. “She is mine.

I carried her outside and into the car, laying her carefully with her head resting on my lap.

For a moment, I considered taking her to my house.

But no.

If she woke up there.

It would be chaos.

And I didn’t want that.

“Take us to her house,” I ordered.

The driver nodded and started the engine.

I looked down at her face.

Even like this… she looked peaceful.

Untouched by the world.

Untouched by the danger she had just escaped.

I brushed a strand of hair away from her face.

“No matter how long you run, Reven…” I whispered. “You are mine.”

My thumb traced lightly against her cheek.

“And one day, you’ll accept it. You’ll come back. You’ll be at peace with it.”

A small pause.

“And you’ll take care of our children.”

She shifted slightly, her eyelids fluttering.

My body tensed.

“Don’t wake up…” I muttered under my breath.

“We’re here, Alpha,” the driver said.

I nodded, stepping out and carrying her to the door.

Knock.

No response.

Knock again.

Still nothing.

The third knock

A tired voice came from inside. “Who is it at this time of night?”

“Edna. Open the door. It’s Alpha Ethan.”

The door swung open immediately.

Her eyes widened as she saw Reven in my arms. “What happened?!”

“I found her drunk at the club,” I said shortly. “She was almost raped.”

“Oh my goodness!” Edna exclaimed. “I warned her about that Sophia girl! That girl is bad luck!”

Sophia.

The name settled in my mind.

“I’ll take her inside.” I said.

I carried Reven to her room and laid her gently on the bed.

For a moment… I just stood there.

Looking at her.

Memorizing her.

Then I turned and walked out.

Edna followed me.

“Who is Sophia?” I asked.

She told me everything.

Every detail.

Every connection.

Every warning she had ignored.

I nodded slowly.

“I understand.”

I turned to leave, then paused.

“One more thing,” I said. “Don’t tell her I brought her home.”

Edna blinked. “But”

“Give her any excuse.”

She hesitated… then nodded. “Alright.”,

Without another word, I walked away.

Back into the car.

Back into the night.

I pulled out my phone.

“Matthew.”

“I’m just leaving the hospital,” he replied.
