Chapter 85 Top Priority
“It/works! Keep blasting them down, Freya!”
Gillian moved her gaze, and golden ribbons shaped from her psionic power lashed fiercely at the approaching griffins.

The force was strong enough to shatter huge boulders, and it knocked one griffin straight unconscious
“Freya, do you feel our primal core powers get boosted in this place?”
“I feel the same way. What exactly is the Dark Trial Forest?”
Freya’s cannon fire kept all griffins from drawing near.
The golden griffin had stayed back at first. Seeing its subordinates fail to take down the group, it charged forward without hesitation.
Yet the young black griffin made a careless move and got caught.
“Run away fast!” Asher shouted loudly.
Seeing Asher captured, Elias rushed over to help at once.
Elias glanced back at Gillian. There were too many enemies around, and they could not hold on for long.
“Leave now!”
Gillian’s heart tightened sharply. She unleashed her psionic power wildly to cut down the surrounding
beasts.
Her power burst open among the herd like a blooming golden rose.
She would never abandon her children, not even at the cost of her own life.

Outside the dining hall, Jared waited in vain for Gillian to show up.
“We are already three minutes past time. Captain Sterling must have gotten caught up chatting with Captain Reed. Go remind her, Jared.”
Several beastmen in white sat on the grip-buggy, holding stacks of metal meal boxes in their hands, yet they did not leave in a hurry.
Gillian was never one to be late.
Jared’s expression turned grave, for all his messages to Gillian went unanswered.
“Has anyone seen Captain Reed? She left with Captain Sterling earlier and never came back.”

Right then, females from the logistics team arrived. They had waited far too long for Freya, and none of their messages got any reply either.
Jared sensed something was wrong. “I texted Captain Sterling, too, and she does not reply at all
“Let us go look for them together.”
Jared headed toward the dining hall along with the logistics team females.
Few beastmen remained inside the hall, and it was easy to tell Gillian and Freya were nowhere to be found.
They checked the surveillance footage soon after and found the two had gone to the warehouse.
When they reached the warehouse, they saw the two frozen in fleeing poses with eyes tightly shut, looking like sound asleep.
Upon hearing the news that Gillian had fallen unconscious, Sylas hurried toward the Medical Hall with a full-fed Tristan beside him.
“Why do you rush so much once you hear Gillian gets hurt?”
Sylas kept walking and spoke in a cold tone.
“She is your meal ticket. Do you want to go without food?”
Tristan wanted to say yes, but he had learned the truth ten minutes earlier.
His elder brother had spent a billion coins to hire Gillian and clear the taint inside his body. That sum had used up all his pocket money for the next three years.
He was now completely out of money.
Staring at the newly grown fine hair on his body, he set his top priority.
He had to grow his full hair back, and most importantly, earn that billion coins back from Gillian.
When Sylas and Tristan reached the Medical Hall, they saw medical team members sending Gillian and Freya into scanning devices.
All detected physical data turned out unknown, as if some unseen force was interfering with the equipment.
Sylas fell into a tough spot.
He tried to contact Merrick, yet received no response. The situation grew truly troublesome.

Inside the Trial Forest, things took a bad turn for Gillian and her companions.
Elias and Asher struggled hard to hold back the golden griffin, yet Gillian and Freya could not fight off so
