Mission: Revenge – The Heiress's Second Life novel Chapter 43

She could easily guess what Serena was plotting.

Serena prided herself on her piano skills. If she opened the performance, the audience would be fully immersed in a musical feast, only for the player to suddenly switch.

With Clara's original piano skills stuck at a mere Level Three, Serena's plan was an absolute mismatch designed to crush her.

After that performance, she would become the biggest laughingstock in the entire school.

Clara honestly couldn't care less about being the butt of a joke.

But Serena cared!

Serena's piano performances were her absolute greatest source of pride!

Ruining Serena's performance would be the equivalent of slapping her hard across the face... No, it would be far more devastating than a mere slap!

"I think that's a wonderful arrangement," Clara smiled. "I look forward to your guidance, Mrs. Sterling. I'll make sure to do my best."

Serena smirked inwardly.

This idiot actually took the bait.

Taking the stage with Level Three piano skills—she'd be booed off the stage!

"Mrs. Sterling, please believe in Clara! She really can do it!" Serena said with overwhelming sincerity. "Clara and I will work hard together!"

Mrs. Sterling was very fond of Serena.

This student came from a good family, was beautiful, and had passed her Level Ten piano exam at such a young age. Best of all, she consistently held the top rank in her class. She was flawless in every aspect!

Meeting Serena's delicate gaze, Mrs. Sterling relented. "Fine, then. You two will perform this piece together. Serena, play through it entirely once so I can record it, and then send it to Clara so she can use it as a reference for her practice."

Serena nodded. "Yes, Mrs. Sterling."

She walked over to the piano and sat down.

She was dressed in a pristine white dress paired with a beige cardigan. Sitting at the piano, her elegance instantly elevated, and a hush fell over the music room.

The melody poured effortlessly from her fingertips.

Her technique was incredibly proficient, the notes flowing in a gorgeous, unbroken stream.

She saw Clara looking down, studying the sheet music.

She laughed scornfully in her head.

The sheet music for *Für Elise* was complex; it wasn't something you could memorize in a short amount of time.

And even if she did memorize it, this bitch wouldn't be able to play it anyway...

"Serena, you did wonderfully." Mrs. Sterling finished recording the video and sent it to the group chat. "If you're not feeling well, head back to class. The rest of you, rehearse for another half hour!"

Serena agreed obediently, turned around, and walked out of the music room.

"Clara, familiarize yourself with the sheet music first. Once you're comfortable, try playing it yourself," Mrs. Sterling said, clapping her hands. "The rest of you, follow me to learn some basic dance steps..."

A group of seven or eight students began rehearsing a scene off to the side.

Clara stood by the piano, analyzing the sheet music. She only needed to read it once to commit it to memory.

Then, she tapped on the video of Serena's performance, her eyes locked on Serena's fingers. The fingering technique was quite complex, moving so fast it was almost a blur if you didn't pay close attention...
