Mission: Revenge – The Heiress's Second Life novel Chapter 82

The sun rose.

Sunlight streamed into the living room, falling softly on Serena Lambert.

Today, she wore the latest haute couture dress from Elysian. Layers of pink tulle cascaded gracefully, exuding sheer luxury and elegance.

Adorned with pearl earrings, a diamond necklace, and a jeweled tiara resting in her hair, she was glowing from head to toe. Every detail proclaimed her status as the most pampered jewel of the Lambert family.

"My Serena looks absolutely gorgeous."

Vera Lambert was immensely satisfied, admiring her daughter as if she were a priceless work of art.

Right then, Clara descended the spiral staircase.

Vera looked up, her gaze immediately locking onto Clara's face. Just a week ago, when this wretched girl first returned to Springfield from the countryside, her skin had been rough and dull, making her entirely forgettable. Yet, in just a few short days, it was as if a layer of grime had been polished off a pearl. Her aura and beauty were now so striking it was almost alarming.

Only heavily dolled up could her precious Serena barely stand on the same level as this little bitch.

"Why haven't you changed into your dress yet?" Serena asked with a smile, masking the jealousy in her eyes. "We need to leave in ten minutes."

Clara's voice was frigid. "You guys head over first. I still have some homework to finish."

Vera had no desire to let her daughter share an entrance with Clara anyway. She nodded. "Then Serena and I will go ahead to greet the early guests. Take your time getting ready here, but make sure you're there by eleven at the latest."

Vera and Serena left in the most expensive car the family owned.

As Clara sat at the dining table eating her breakfast, Mr. Harrison brought over her freshly ironed dress. "Miss Lambert, the gown has been steamed."

She looked up at the purple dress.

It had to be a few years old, likely sitting in the back of a closet for at least two years. The purple hue was slightly faded, giving the garment a distinctly cheap look.

In truth, the dress wasn't expensive to begin with. From a mid-tier brand, it probably cost no more than five hundred dollars.

In her past life, she had worn this very dress to her coming-of-age banquet. The socialites in their circle were notorious for judging books by their covers. Seeing her in such a cheap outfit, they had instantly known she held no status in the Lambert family.

It was her coming-of-age celebration. She was supposed to be the star.
