Mission: Revenge – The Heiress's Second Life novel Chapter 81

She walked over to the closet, pulled out a heavy quilt, and said coldly, "You're sleeping on the floor."

Teddy blinked in confusion. "Why?"

"Because this is my bed!"

Clara was completely justified in her stance.

She had originally planned to give up the bed for just one night, but who knew this guy was such a creep, taking advantage of her time and time again.

"But this bed is so big, we can sleep together," Teddy suddenly sounded incredibly wronged. "Do you despise me now?"

He suddenly crouched down, wrapping his arms around his knees pitifully. "I don't have a father, a mother, or a home. All I have left is you, but you don't even like me... No one in this world likes me. Why was I even born?"

He buried his face in his knees and began to weep pitifully.

A throbbing headache hit Clara.

The sight of a grown man sobbing was almost too painful to watch.

Too exhausted to argue, she reluctantly gave in. "Fine, you take the bed. I'll sleep later."

She sat down at her desk, pulled out her test papers, and started working.

Teddy wrapped himself in the quilt and sat beside her, watching unblinkingly as she did her homework.

At first, Clara felt uncomfortable; anyone would struggle to focus with someone staring at them like that.

Gradually, however, she immersed herself in her studies, blocking out everything around her.

By the time she finished a mock paper and claimed her system rewards, she turned around to find him fast asleep, slumped against the desk.

She packed away her books, effortlessly hoisted him up with one arm, and tossed him onto the bed.

The man was clearly mentally impaired, and most likely physically frail too; sleeping on the floor in this weather was a guaranteed recipe for a cold.
