Mission: Revenge – The Heiress's Second Life novel Chapter 89

She frowned and walked in, spotting the gaming console discarded on the floor. There were no signs of a struggle. Clearly, Teddy had returned to normal and bolted.

He was always like this—showing up out of nowhere and disappearing without a trace.

"Oh wow, this purple dress is beautiful," Lillian chirped, pulling the faded gown out of the shopping bag on the sofa. "It laces up in the back. You definitely won't be able to tie it yourself. Let me help you."

A faint, dangerous smirk played on Clara's lips. "Did Serena ask you to do this, or was this your own brilliant idea?"

Lillian blinked, feigning ignorance. "I'm the one who spilled the wine on you. Of course it's my idea to help. What does Serena have to do with this?"

Clara laughed softly.

Since Lillian had dug her own grave, she shouldn't blame Clara for burying her in it.

Knock, knock!

A sudden rap on the door interrupted them.

Clara looked over to see Gavin standing in the doorway.

"Miss Lambert, our employer has prepared this gown for you," Gavin said, stepping inside to place a luxurious garment bag on the coffee table. "He instructed me to tell you to take your time. He doesn't mind waiting."

With a respectful bow, he exited the room.

Once outside, he sighed, wiping sweat from his brow.

Doesn't mind waiting? The boss just wanted ten minutes to sprint to the boutique next door, take a shower, get his hair fixed, and change into a clean suit.

He had never seen Theodore put so much effort into preparing for a meeting.

Miss Lambert was clearly neglected by her own family, but with his boss backing her now, she would never have to suffer a day of grievance again.

After Gavin left, Lillian stood there in pure shock.
