His eyes shifted to my lips as I spoke, and I found myself biting my lower lip before I could stop myself. His eyes darkened and just when I thought he was going to tell me his condition, he shook his head.
“I haven’t decided,” he said, taking a sip of the water in his hands My eyes followed his every move; from the way his throat bobbed to how effortlessly hot he looked. Heat shot straight through my body as I cleared my throat.
“What do you mean?”
“You don’t need to know what I wanted yet,” he shrugged. “I’ll inform you when I am ready and if you think you can refuse it because some time has passed, I’ll go straight to your mother and inform her about everything,” he drawled out.
“I’m sure she’d be eager to know who her darling daughter has been hanging out with.”
I didn’t miss the hint of annoyance in his tone at the mention of who I had been hanging with. He hadn’t mentioned anything about what happened at the club or questioned why I was with Tristan.
I thought he didn’t care, but turns out he was holding back to use it as leverage. Maybe I should have just kept my mouth
shut.
Left with no choice, I nodded hesitantly. “Fine, but you won’t break your promise as long as I do what you asked, right?”
“We’ll find out about that.”
His trainer clapped to grab his attention. “Break is over dude, we don’t have all day.”
He jogged back to meet his trainer without sparing me another glance. I returned to my room, wondering what Kael could ask me to do for him.
Doing his homework was the smartest thing I could come up with. We didn’t have anything in common and if I wasn’t living under his roof, there was no way on earth he’d speak to me at all so what else could he ask for?
I spent the rest of the day curled up in the room and ended up falling asleep. I woke up to the sound of my alarm buzzing, a sound I dread more than anything for the past few days.
I got up and dressed quickly since it was a school day. By the time I got to the dining room, Kael had finished eating. He rose to his feet, prepared to leave, when Alpha Zane stopped him.
“Nevaeh just got here. Let her finish her breakfast and then you an leave together.”
His eyes met mine and I couldn’t tell whether he hated the idear not. “I’ll be in the car,” he said before trailing off
Sometimes I wondered why he bothered going to school early, knowing no one would question him even if he arrived late.
I grabbed a sandwich and ran after him before he’d leave me beind. Walking to school every day was a lot and I wouldn’t miss a free ride even if it came with a bit of discomfort.
The ride to school was silent. Neither Kael nor I tried to speak to each other, but sitting this close to him telt awfully comforting. We were hardly ever in the same space, and I could stop myself from looking forward to the ride every morning.
He dropped me a few blocks before we arrived at the school gate and drove off without another word
A smile tugged at my face as I walked to the school. I had barely got the chance to drop my bag when Sabrina strode in with her clique. She walked towards me and I squirmed in the same pot.

Get the bitch’I orderest her minions and they grabbed me from both hands, dragging me out of the classroom into the
I struggled to get out of their grip, my heart beating faster than usual as I pondered on what I could have done to gain her attention this early morning
Classes are starting soon, please let me go.” I begged.
She exchanged a glance with her minions. Before I could understand a single thing, they pushed me to the floor, making me fall on my knee with a thud. I winced from the sharp pain that shot through my bones.
Sabrina shut the door to ensure no one would walk in, as she began to circle me. I grabbed a handful of my uniform material, clenching hard to it hard, as my palms dampened.
My throat tightened as her eyes shot me daggers. They’ve pulled so many pranks on me in the past, but none of them involved dragging me out of class to bully me in the restroom. They enjoyed humiliating me publicly so others could watch. and now that I was all alone. I didn’t know which was better.
I pushed my body up, ignoring the pain that was pulsating through my bones. “I-I don’t know what this is all about, but can you please let me go
Tears pricked the corner of my eyes as I pleaded with Sabrina. A smug smile graced her lips. Her eyes were shimmering with something I couldn’t quite decipher.
You want to leave?” She chuckled. “The door is over there.”
I looked between her and her minions and wondered what she was planning this time. They took a step back, giving me enough space to walk away, leaving me even more suspicious. They wouldn’t bring me here only to let me out just like that.
*Leave before I change my mind!” Sabrina snapped.
Something tells me this was another prank, but if it wasn’t. I’d better get out of here before she changes her mind. I turned the doorknob hurriedly when someone grabbed my hair from behind.
A scream tore from my throat as she pulled me back forcefully. She released me while I was fighting to steady myself. My knee buckled, and I slammed my head hard against the sink.
My vision blurred as a sharp pain pulsated through my being. I stumbled, when I stepped on something and hit my head on the cold floor.
Blood trickled down my head, and they burst into a fit of laughter.
“Why are you just lying there? I thought you wanted to leave?” Sabrina taunted.
My head spun around, and even from their closeness, their voice echoed from a distance.
Sabrina grabbed my neck, forcing me to look into her eyes, as I linked back the tears that blurred my vision.
“1-1-1 need to see a nurse.” my voice cracked.
She snorted in response “You don’t really think I’d let you be after hanging out with Tristan, do you?” Her grip tightened around my neck, making it harder to breathe.
“Appearing in a club with him dressed like some cheap whore, e scoffed in disbelief. “If that was all it takes to climb the social ladder, do you know how many cheap omegas like you would have forced themselves on him?”
I opened my mouth to speak, but all I could make out were whispers. My throat burned from the unspoken words, eyes gleaming with water and I just wanted to breathe.

“This is just a warning,” she said, releasing her grip from my neck and I inhaled a sharp breath. My hands snapped to my neck, trying to ease the pain, but everywhere hurts.
“Stay the fuck away from the hockey team or I’ll kill you before you even dare to ruin their reputation.”
The sound of their giggling echoed through the air as they finally left, leaving me to die if I could My body shook violently, anxious from the amount of blood I was losing.
I tried calling for help, but it was useless. The bell has been rung and all students should be in class by now.
After staining every inch of the strength left in me, I staggered to the clinic to have my wounds checked. The healer stopped me before I could even walk inside, taking me by surprise.
“You’re not allowed to go in,” she said with a frown.
I leaned against the wall, staining it with my blood because I was too weak to stand by myself.
“I… can I get pain relief,” my voice came out barely as a whisper.
“I’m not being paid to attend to some omegas. Go find some cheap healers if you’re that desperate,” she hissed. Before she could slam the door shut in my face, I caught a glimpse of Sabrina and her minions laughing so hard from inside.
“P-p-please,” I begged. My head spun so fast everything was starting to double in my eyes. I tried to reach for hands, but she slapped my hands away before I could even touch her.
“Get your filthy face out of here. I have better things to do.”
I stumbled backward, and I could feel the building moving with me. My vision blurred but before everything darkened, a figure curled me in their arms before I could hit the ground.
