71 No one is coming

  1. No one is coming

NEVAEH

I felt awfully refreshed when I woke up after having the best night of my life with Kael. I hoped we could recreate something like once again, as I prepared for school. I went downstairs, hoping to see Kael again and drive with him to school.

I was already getting ideas of how to make our ride pretty fun when I noticed his seat was empty. Alpha’s driver came in just in time to inform me the car was ready. I stared at him blankly, confused about what he was talking about.

“Thank you, but-”

I hadn’t even finished my words when I felt someone glaring at me. I turned to meet with my mother’s sharp gaze and agreed reluctantly. I can’t afford to piss her off even more after everything that has happened, so I followed behind the driver and allowed him to drive me to school.

Kael was the only thought that filled my mind throughout the entire ride. The beautiful night we shared. How surreal it felt, and how I couldn’t wait to have some alone moments with him.

I didn’t think he’d listen to me when I asked him to sleep with me. I knew how risky my request was, but when he sank his weight on the bed and pulled me closer, nothing else matters in the world.

Even though he left before I woke up, I could still feel his warmth from where he slept, and the strong scent of his cologne lingered in the air. I found myself sniffing my bedsheets, just to recall what he smelled like, and just the mere thought of liquid formed between my legs.

I had instructed the maids not to change my bedsheets before I left earlier so that I could come back to sniffing his scent whenever I missed him. I blushed from how childish, yet thrilling, that sounded but didn’t mind one bit.

The driver stared at me through the front mirror, and I cleared my throat. Everything felt different within the last few days, and I wondered if that meant anything to Kael.

The image of his head between my legs flashed before my eyes, and I couldn’t hold back my giggle. He sure knows how to make a woman feel alive, and I wanted to reciprocate so badly.

The car came to a halt in front of the school gate, and I gave the driver a grateful smile before stepping out. He drove off almost immediately as I made my way in.

I had completely forgotten what happened yesterday until I noticed every eye was on me. It wasn’t the first time I’d be drawing attention for the wrong reason, but having the whole school stare at me at once made me feel so fucking uncomfortable.

I didn’t know how to walk as they brought out their phones and cameras began to flash from different angles. My stomach churned as I recalled how everyone had witnessed what happened with Sabrina yesterday and my cheeks flushed red.

My hands fell on the spot Sabrina had cut me on my neck, but I could barely feel anything. The healer really did a great job helping me healer up because I had never healed this fast on my own. I swallowed hard, wondering how I could forget about something that dreads so easily.

A part of me wanted me to turn on my heels and return home before it was too late. I knew how malicious Sabrina could be and she wouldn’t let me off the hook so easily, but I also know going back now wouldn’t solve anything unless I planned to never return.

I inhaled sharply as I walked into the hallway. Everyone stopped what they were doing to glare at me, and I could feel a hair strand at my back. My palms became scary as I approached my locker anxiously.

I haven’t seen Sabrina or any of her cliques around. That is a good thing, right? Eyes followed me all the way to my locker room as I inhaled sharply. If I can survive today I would be able to survive any other day. I inhaled deeply, and breathed out as I reached out to open my locker, when a shadow snapped it close from behind, shoving me roughly in the process. I lost my balance and hit my hands against the locks, making me wince in

I staggered backward, confused about what was happening when Sabrina came out of the crowd and her minions. My breath hitched, and within a second, they had circled me. I looked between them anxiously, but the malicious grin on Sabrina told me this was the end.

Half of the school stood in the hallway, waiting to see what Sabrina was going to do, while my body shook violently. One of her friends lurched forward, shoving me against the wall.

My chest heaved heavily as I let out a sharp breath. Everyone seemed to be in support of Sabrina, and I knew no one was coming to my rescue.

My stomach churned at the thought of really dying in their hands when they all stepped closer, intimidating me. I leaned against the wall, clawing my nails against it as I waited for what was coming next.

“You still dare to show your stupid face here?” Mary scoffed in disbelief.

“We need to teach her a real lesson this time,” another one said with a smug smile.

“Kael won’t be coming to save you this time,” Mary said again, her face glinting with a ridiculous amount of hatred. “We made sure of that.”

I wanted to ask what that meant, and a part of me feared something might have happened to Kael, but before I could think straight, Sabrina landed a crippling punch in my stomach.

I screamed out my lungs, my body trembling with pain as I fell on the cold floor. “You really think you can steal my man and get away with it?” She grabbed a fist full of my hair, dragging me out of the corner for everyone to see.

“I’m going to use you to set an example no one could ever forget.” Her words sounded like a vow, as she dragged me away from the locker room, and my stomach dropped.
