Phoebe’s voice was steady and powerful, like an elder wolf teaching a young pup. “Raymond has an outstanding grandfather and father, and his uncles are all heroes. Even if he can’t surpass them, he must still do his best. He must not disgrace them or tarnish General Conlay’s reputation.”
She lowered her head and looked at the little boy in her arms.
“Raymond, listen carefully.
“I don’t care whether you can do it or not, but you must give it your all. If you try your best and still fail, no one will blame you. But if you don’t try, you won’t be able to face your grandfather, your father, and your uncles. You’ll dishonor the Conlays.”
Raymond looked up at her and nodded firmly. He silently mouthed, “I know.”
Tears welled up in Phoebe’s eyes as she pulled him into a tight embrace. “Snowpeak Pack will always be your support. We’ll always stand behind you.”
Resting in her arms, Raymond looked as gentle and obedient as a little kitten.
Laila thought about it and realized Phoebe saw much further than she did.
Holding the ducal title without enough strength would inevitably invite jealousy.
No one could protect Raymond forever. Not Samuel. Not Snowpeak Pack. Not even Laila herself.
Only if he grew strong enough would he truly be safe. He must be able to protect himself, defend the Silvermoon Pack, and live up to those who had fallen in blood and fire.
Laila lowered her gaze, burying those complicated emotions deep in her heart.
Phoebe was right. Laila accepted it.
The others also nodded in agreement. Soon, they invited Laila and Raymond to stay for dinner.
Laila naturally accepted. After the meal and some more conversation, she finally took Raymond back to the Silvermoon Pack
Luckily, the Silvermoon Pack and the Snowpeak Pack weren’t far apart. It took less than an hour to return home.
Once Raymond awakened his wolf spirit and could transform, it would take him only 20 minutes to run the distance,
The next day, Samson and Moira even sent over some of Raymond’s favorite foods. They also said they had already instructed the servants to make new clothes for him.

Chapter 186 Look What You’ve Done!
Their actions finally reassured Raymond.
His maternal family didn’t look down on him. On the contrary, they cared about him deeply.
Meanwhile, Blackrock Pack was in complete chaos.

Jenna had been Blackrock Pack’s Luna for several years, yet she had never truly gained control of its management. It was because Blackrock Pack’s Alpha, Connor Odonnell, was a textbook mama’s boy.
