r 29 I Could Execute You
Laila’s POV:

“Solantia Kingdom just signed a peace treaty with us! They agreed to borders and a mutual non-aggression pact. If they dared to tear up that treaty immediately, they’d lose all credibility! Who would ever trade with them again?”
The Alpha King’s face was cold as he continued, “Besides, I just received a battle report from Vagen yesterday. It said the campaign is going well and they’re in the final stages. How could what you’re describing possibly be happening? Solantia Kingdom and Ovila Kingdom haven’t had a military alliance in nearly a hundred years!”
I had anticipated his skepticism, so I presented a letter. “This letter was written by my senior, Mr. Green. Please take a look, Your Majesty. Whether you believe it or not is your decision.”
Of course, Shane hadn’t actually written this letter. The intelligence had come from Tracy.
However, Shane had graduated from Moonlight Academy at 18 and had spent years traveling and hunting down Rogue werewolves across the Rydar Kingdom. He had quite a reputation. The Alpha King had always admired him, so I had forged his handwriting, hoping to fool the king.
At the mention of Shane’s name, the Alpha King did take it seriously. But after reading it, his brow furrowed deeply. “How dare you! Laila, you would forge a letter to deceive me!
“This letter claims Shane wrote it from the Ovila Isles, but this paper is exclusively made in the. Rydar Kingdom! The two nations have been at war for three years. There’s no way he could have obtained this paper over there.”
The Alpha King’s tone was certain. I knew he had seen through my lie.
But I had no other choice. This was the only way I could think of to make him trust my intelligence source. Unfortunately…
“Laila, do you realize that this forged letter alone gives me grounds to execute you on the spot?”
The Alpha King stared at me coldly.
I met his gaze without flinching. “Your Majesty, I know forging the letter was wrong. But I swear on my life that the information is true! You must send reinforcements to the Vagen Battlefield immediately! I’m willing to…”
“Enough!”
The Alpha King cut me off sharply, disappointment crossing his face. “Laila, you’re the last of

the Conlays. Are you asking me to send you? Do you even know how to fight a war?”
“I-”
“Laila!”
Finished
The Alpha King interrupted me again. “Can’t you show some sense? Or did you fabricate this information just to send Holt and Maris back to the Vagen Battlefield, hoping they’d die there? Laila, you are General Conlay’s daughter! Your brothers were all heroes who stood tall and proud! Your vision cannot be this small!”
His words made my face flush red with humiliation.
“Your Majesty-”
I tried to explain, but the Alpha King instantly released his dominating pressure.
