Victoria tried to hide her guilt and said, “A few days ago. I ran into her on the street, and we chatted for a bit. We get along pretty well, so don’t worry.”

Jillian thought it over, then shook her head. “Meeting in private and having her treat you kindly is one thing. But at Princess Morgana’s party, there will be a lot of people. If you show up, it’ll put Laila in an awkward spot.”

She didn’t dare meet Lorena’s eyes. Her gaze darted around, and her lips trembled.

Lorena didn’t catch on at first. But seeing everyone stay silent–even Jillian–she suddenly started to realize something.

Standing beside her, Edith Woods, Terrence’s grandmother, let out a sigh and said quietly, “Victoria is now Alpha Holt’s Luna.”

Lorena already knew that Holt had once used his military merits to marry Maris as his second Luna.
