After washing up, Yvaine headed into the walk-in closet to get dressed. Silas waited until she was done before taking his turn in the bathroom. Once they were both ready, they headed downstairs to grab breakfast.

After eating, they went their separate ways to work.

As soon as she arrived at the office, her mother, Hester, called. She announced that she was hosting a dinner that night to introduce Silas to the extended family.

While the Sheridan elders weren't in Brenok, the entire Sterling side of the family was.

She agreed to the plan. "I'll ask if he's free tonight."

Hanging up, she immediately sent him a message.

Yvaine: Are you busy tonight?

He replied instantly: No.

Yvaine: My family wants to do a dinner to officially meet you. Is that okay?

Silas: Sounds good.

She relayed the confirmation to Hester.

Hester immediately got to work arranging everything.

Toward the end of the afternoon, he texted to say he would pick her up from the office so they could head to the restaurant together.

When she walked out of the building, his car was already waiting.

As she approached, he stepped out and opened the passenger door for her.

"Thank you," she said.

He offered a faint smile, getting back into the driver's seat without a word, and they headed toward the venue.

It was meant to be a small, intimate family gathering. They only booked two tables, inviting only the closest relatives: her grandparents, her aunt, her uncle, and a few other key figures from the extended family.

By the time they arrived, everyone else was already seated. The couple walked into the private dining room together.

"Yvaine! After all these years with Mr. Lowell..." one relative started teasing with a bright smile.
