Last night had been intense. The moment it ended, she had passed out into a dead sleep.
Blinking against the morning light, she took a moment to register her surroundings. Memories of the night before came flooding back.
Last night's version of Silas had been somehow even bolder and more uninhibited than on their wedding night.
She shook her head rapidly, trying to clear the vivid images from her mind.
"What's wrong?" a voice murmured beside her. "Headache?"
She turned to look at him. He was awake.
"No," she said, her cheeks tinting pink.
Her head was fine; it was the rest of her body that was aching.
He gave her a knowing look, then casually got out of bed without bothering to cover up. She watched him walk away... noting the fresh set of scratches trailing down his back. It looked both brutal and wildly intimate.
Blushing furiously, she glanced down at herself.
She looked even worse. Her chest and shoulders were painted with undeniable evidence of what they had been doing.
Clearly, that internet theory about men losing their stamina at twenty-five was total garbage. Last night, he didn't act like a guy past his prime. He acted like an eighteen-year-old athlete with something to prove.
Pushing the thoughts aside, she got dressed. Once he finished in the bathroom, she went in to wash up.
Afterward, they headed out together.
They grabbed breakfast downstairs and then drove to their respective offices.
——
Yvaine arrived at the Sterling Group headquarters.
Her assistant hurried over to greet her. "Good morning, Ms. Sterling."
She was the General Manager of the Sterling Group. Her father was the Chairman.
