My Drama King Husband (Yvaine and Silas) novel Chapter 22

The Lowell family home sat at the very back of the neighborhood. It was the largest, most private, and quietest property, costing double what the surrounding houses had gone for back in the day.

Honestly, the Lowell family should have moved out a long time ago.

The neighborhood was prestigious but aging—built two or three decades ago. Despite impeccable maintenance, its amenities simply couldn't compare to the modern mega-mansions popping up around the city.

The only reason they stayed was Yvaine.

Zachary couldn't stand the thought of being far from her.

So, as long as the Sterling family stayed put, so did he.

Zachary arrived at the Sterling gates, peering through the wrought-iron bars.

It was 9:00 PM. The house was brightly lit, and he could faintly hear voices drifting out into the night.

Listening closely, he recognized the butler's voice directing the maids.

He looked up toward the third floor—toward her bedroom.

The windows were pitch black.

Was she not home?

Where was she? What was she doing?

At a business dinner?

He frowned, lingering outside for a few heavy minutes before finally turning toward his own empty house.

——

Yvaine hung up the phone.

She knew exactly what Ryan was trying to do.

But she was married now. She and Zachary had officially broken up, so there was no need for his so-called olive branch.

She had no reason to accept it anymore.

Zachary was just like that—incredibly proud.

Even if he wanted to apologize and reconcile, he would never initiate the conversation.

He wouldn't even hint at it, preferring to leave the people around him guessing his intentions.

He should count his lucky stars that he was the heir to the Lowell Group, sitting high in power with unimaginable wealth and influence. Only because of that were the people around him willing to cater to his whims and interpret his moods.

Putting her phone away, Yvaine continued overseeing the maids.

She had instructed the butler to pack up a portion of her wardrobe earlier that afternoon. She owned an enormous amount of things, and the packing alone had taken hours.
