My Drama King Husband (Yvaine and Silas) novel Chapter 28

After finishing dinner, Yvaine felt her phone buzz with incoming messages, so she sat down to catch up on work.

Silas headed to the bathroom first to wash up.

The messages were from her team. They frantically reported that the Lowell Group was relentlessly pressuring them to submit yet another revised proposal.

When her staff stopped replying, the client’s team escalated to spamming them with voice and video calls.

Yvaine rubbed her temples.

Zachary was genuinely still this incredibly immature.

She knew exactly what his endgame was: he wanted to force her to personally contact him so she would lower her head and apologize.

But this time, he wasn't going to get what he wanted.

She was a married woman now.

For the sake of the project, she could compromise; she could even formally apologize. But she would not beg for peace.

Besides... what was Zachary even trying to accomplish?

She had already posted her official marriage license on her social feed. Did he honestly believe she was just playing a prank or using some elaborate scheme to threaten him?

After knowing her for so many years, he still didn't understand her at all.

She never used things like marriage as a cheap bargaining chip.

Yvaine decisively ordered her team to block the Lowell Group representatives on all communication channels.

She knew that by escalating things to this point, the project dispute wasn't going to end quietly.

Once Zachary fully realized she was genuinely married... God only knew what kind of chaotic fallout would ensue.

Just thinking about the logistics gave her a migraine.

Untangling their romantic history was the easy part.

It was the business ties that were the real nightmare.

The Lowell Group and the Sterling Group shared an overwhelming amount of joint ventures. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that over half of Sterling's active projects involved the Lowell family in some capacity.

It wasn't that the Sterlings were completely reliant on the Lowells. While the Lowell Group was undeniably a titan, the Sterling Group was a powerhouse in its own right. In some ventures, Lowell was the client, but in others, Sterling called the shots.

It was a mutually beneficial partnership. Neither side was leeching off the other, nor did they need to desperately curry favor.

However, with so many interconnected projects, if Zachary decided to throw a tantrum and sabotage every single one of them, it would cause catastrophic damage to the company’s operations.

Sure, her team could retaliate. They could nitpick Lowell’s projects and make their lives equally miserable.

But that was a toxic, self-destructive game. It would drain incredible amounts of manpower, resources, and capital. In the end, both empires would just bleed each other dry.

Zachary was reckless and emotional enough to pull a stunt like that.
