My Drama King Husband (Yvaine and Silas) novel Chapter 27

Yvaine retreated to her bedroom, slipped into comfortable loungewear, and settled onto the living room sofa with her laptop and phone to continue working.

Her team sent over the latest iteration of the proposal. She reviewed it carefully; the drafted plan was virtually flawless.

Every single arbitrary complaint the Lowell Group had managed to invent had been thoroughly addressed.

Seeing no issues, she authorized the team to submit it to the client.

Right at that moment, Silas walked through the front door.

Hearing the lock click, she glanced up and met his eyes. "You're back."

"Mm," Silas nodded.

He shot her a brief look before heading to his room to change into his own loungewear. Returning to the living room to see her deeply engrossed in work, he retrieved his own laptop and phone, taking a seat at the opposite end of the sofa to tackle his own pending tasks.

His workload was actually incredibly demanding right now.

Having just arrived in Brenok, his corporate foundation was still unstable. There were a million moving parts to manage. If he were still a bachelor, there was no question he’d still be chained to his desk at headquarters, eating takeout while pulling overtime.

But he was a married man now.

Even though it was currently a commercial marriage devoid of deep romantic history, he had made a promise. He had explicitly stated his intention to cultivate a real relationship, to eventually have children, and to live a completely normal married life.

He absolutely refused to neglect his wife during the early days of their marriage.

The two of them typed away in quiet solidarity from opposite ends of the sofa, neither disturbing the other's focus.

On Yvaine's end, it didn't take long for the Lowell Group to officially reject the proposal once again.

Yvaine knew Zachary was playing games, but this was crossing the line into sheer absurdity.

She let out a harsh sigh, her brow knitting tightly.

Silas glanced over at her from his screen.

Yvaine messaged her team to continue revising the document.

Her project lead quickly texted back: Ms. Sterling, their manager just informed us that Mr. Lowell rejected the new file without even opening it. At this rate, no matter what we change, they aren't going to pass it.

Yvaine stared at the message in silence for a few seconds before typing back: Just pack up and go home.

She knew exactly what Zachary was trying to achieve. He was deliberately suffocating her project, trying to back her into a corner so she’d be forced to lower her head, apologize, and beg for peace.

He expected her to whisper sweet nothings and coddle his bruised ego, exactly like she used to.

But... her circumstances were entirely different now.
