Silas led Yvaine into the sprawling villa by the hand.

She had seen features on the Sheridan estate in luxury architectural magazines before, but this was her first time stepping inside. The property was famous across Docksy and the mainland, constantly used as a benchmark for unimaginable wealth and astronomical renovation costs.

Since it was late, Yvaine didn't pause to admire the opulent decor. She simply followed Silas upstairs to his wing of the house.

His bedroom was massive—easily over a thousand square feet. Unlike his minimalist, modern apartment in Brenok, this space was grand, drenched in classic, heavy luxury.

The staff had already brought their luggage up.

Exhausted from the flight, Yvaine grabbed her silk pajamas and headed straight for the en-suite. After a long, hot shower, she finally felt human again.

Silas took his turn in the shower while she dried her hair.

When he emerged, he slid right into bed next to her. Just as Yvaine was pulling the covers up to sleep, Silas frowned.

"There aren't any condoms here," he announced.

Yvaine stared at him. So what if there aren't?

Then, reality crashed over her. She blinked, her eyes widening as she looked at him.

Wait. Was he planning on doing it tonight?

But... it was past 1:00 AM! Given his usual duration, they wouldn't finish until well after two.

And they absolutely had to be awake by 7:00 AM. This was her first morning at her new in-laws' house; she couldn't exactly sleep in until noon while the elders waited on her.

"I'll have Hugo bring some up," Silas said matter-of-factly, reaching for the landline.

Yvaine lunged forward in absolute panic.

"...Don't!" She slapped her hand over the receiver, her face burning crimson.

Silas looked at her, confused.

If Hugo brought up condoms at this hour, it would only be a matter of time before the entire household knew! They had just flown in, it was the middle of the night, and instead of sleeping, the newlyweds were ringing the butler for birth control?

Could he really not hold off for a single night?
