My Drama King Husband (Yvaine and Silas) novel Chapter 40

Seeing the terrifying look on Zachary's face, the front desk receptionist immediately scrambled for the phone and called Sarah Sinclair.

"Sarah, Mr. Lowell just went up, and he looks like he's about to murder someone," the receptionist whispered frantically.

"...Understood," Sarah replied, her stomach sinking.

This was probably going to be infinitely worse than his last visit.

From what she knew, Yvaine hadn't reached out to him a single time over the last few days. Knowing Zachary's fragile ego and explosive temper, he had clearly reached his breaking point.

The second Sarah hung up, the elevator doors chimed open.

Zachary stalked out, his face a terrifying storm of dark, seething rage.

Sarah visibly flinched.

Even with the warning from the front desk, nothing could have prepared her for how deranged he looked. His expression was venomous, his eyes bloodshot and unhinged, radiating the destructive energy of a hurricane about to make landfall.

"Mr. Lowell..." Sarah rushed forward to intercept him.

"Back off!" Zachary snarled without even looking at her. He shoved past her and barged straight into Yvaine's office.

"Mr. Lowell!" Sarah gasped, chasing after him.

He looked absolutely psychotic.

She genuinely felt like he was about to commit a crime!

Zachary slammed the heavy office door shut and immediately locked it from the inside.

Yvaine looked up from her paperwork, startled by the intrusion. "Why are you—"

She froze the second she saw his face.

The man standing in front of her was terrifying.

Dark, obsessive, furious... and completely ruthless.

What was wrong with him?

"Mr. Lowell, open the door! Mr. Lowell!" Sarah shouted from the hallway, rattling the handle desperately.

But the deadbolt held firm.

Panicking, Sarah spun around and sprinted for the nearest phone to call security. She needed the captain up here with a full team immediately.

Zachary's state was beyond a simple argument.

She was terrified he was actually going to lay hands on Yvaine.

—

Inside the office, Yvaine pressed her lips together into a thin line.

She remained seated in her leather chair, refusing to move.

She also didn't say a word that might trigger him.

In this state, she knew better than to push his buttons. While Zachary had never physically hit her before, she wasn't about to risk her safety on the assumption that he never would.
