"Friends. Business partners," Yvaine replied evenly.

"Who's your friend?" Zachary shot back with ice in his voice. "We broke up. I don't have a habit of staying friends with my ex-girlfriends."

Yvaine inhaled sharply.

*Psycho!*

He was throwing a tantrum again!

Yvaine knew exactly how to soothe his ego.

But she couldn't.

Given where they stood now, indulging him was entirely out of the question.

"As for being business partners..." Zachary sneered, "Let me tell you right now, that Sterling woman, we are no longer partners. From this day forward, the Lowell family is cutting all ties with the Sterlings."

With that, he shoved his chair back and stormed out of the private room.

"Zachary!" Yvaine chased after him.

In the hallway, she managed to grab his arm, frowning deeply. "Zachary, can you please grow up? Stop throwing tantrums over everything."

"I need to grow up? I'm throwing tantrums?" Zachary laughed bitterly. "Fine, I'm immature. I'm throwing tantrums. Go find someone mature, someone perfect! If I'm so awful, then leave me alone! Get off me!"

Furious, he violently threw off her grip.

Driven by pure rage, he used a lot of force. Yvaine stumbled backward, reeling until her back slammed hard against the wall. She barely managed to stay on her feet.

If the wall hadn't been there, she would have crashed to the floor.

"Zachary!" Yvaine glared at him, wincing.

Zachary froze when he saw her hit the wall. He hadn't meant to hurt her; he was just blinded by anger and hadn't controlled his strength.

Instinctively, he reached out to help her up.

But then a voice cut through the tension.

"Baby."

Both Yvaine and Zachary whipped their heads toward the sound.

It was Silas.

He was walking out of the adjacent private room with a group of executives.

His eyes were fixed on the two of them.

Yvaine blinked in surprise. "You're having lunch here too?"
