My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 205

Jensen Hawthorne nodded, his mind replaying the surveillance footage of Benjamin and Candice cornering Rebekah. A fresh wave of anger surged through him.

"Prepare to begin the acquisition of the Fletcher Group next month," he ordered.

The assistant nodded, took the signed file, and left the office. Just then, Jensen's phone vibrated with a text from an unknown number.

‘Jensen, are you really not going to see me?'

His face impassive, Jensen turned off the screen, the warmth draining from his eyes. It seemed he had to clean up these messes faster than he thought.

On her way home, Rebekah bought too much fruit and decided to give some to Jensen. She sent him a message asking if he was home yet.

Instead of texting back, he called.

"I should be home around eight. Is everything okay?"

Rebekah smiled. "Everything's fine. I just bought some fruit and wanted to bring some over for you."

A feeling of surprised delight bloomed in Jensen's chest.

"Why don't you come over to my place when you get back?" she continued. "And if you haven't eaten, I can make you something."

"Okay."

After hanging up, Jensen moved to conclude his meeting with newfound urgency. A meeting scheduled to end at six-thirty was abruptly finished by six. He delegated all follow-up tasks to his beleaguered assistant.

As the assistant began to protest, Jensen cut him off. "Your end-of-month bonus is doubled."

She turned to look at Benjamin and was met with a chilling sight. His face was grim, his dark eyes fixed on the road, and an unnerving, cold aura emanated from him.

Fear began to creep in. "Grandfather's fine, isn't he?" she asked. "You lied to me."

The sky was darkening rapidly, and the streetlights began to flicker on, casting an orange glow that illuminated Benjamin's cold, hard face with each passing lamp. He glanced at her, his eyes devoid of any warmth.

"Rebekah, this time, you've gone too far."

"What are you planning to do?" she asked, her voice wary.

He didn't answer, instead slamming his foot on the accelerator. The black Porsche shot forward, weaving through traffic as it sped down the highway.

When Jensen arrived back at the apartment building, the first thing he did was knock on Rebekah's door. He waited for a long time, but no one answered. Standing in the empty hallway, Jensen's brow furrowed with concern.
