My Love Burns for Anyone Worth It novel Chapter 11

**Vows Became Blame by Mark Twain**
**Chapter 11**

The following morning, Sebastian and Ronald found themselves at the freshman check-in counter well before the staff had even arrived, their eagerness palpable. They were resolute in their mission: they would not miss the chance to see Bella.

As the minutes ticked away, a sense of urgency crept into the air. The check-in period was drawing to a close, yet Bella was nowhere to be seen. A gnawing anxiety began to take root in Sebastian’s mind—had the devastating fire at the Shaw residence caused her to miss her enrollment altogether? The thought was unbearable.

“Do you think we should go look for her?” Ronald suggested, his brow furrowing with concern. Just then, Sebastian’s gaze drifted to the last student in line, who had just pulled out his acceptance letter. The sight of that document, so strikingly similar to his own and Ronald’s despite being designated for a different college, sent a jolt through him, awakening memories of the day those letters had arrived.

That day had been electric with excitement. They had rushed straight to Tessa afterward, their hearts racing with the thrill of acceptance. But now, a troubling question began to swirl in his mind. If his and Ronald’s letters looked the same because they were both accepted into the same program, why did Tessa’s letter for the arts program mirror theirs so closely?

After days of standing sentinel at the check-in counter without witnessing any variance in letter styles, a chilling realization washed over him. He grabbed Ronald, who was about to wander off, and hurried over to a senior who was in the process of packing up her belongings.

“Excuse me,” Sebastian implored, urgency lacing his voice. “Does Eastbridge College issue green acceptance letters?”

The senior blinked in surprise before shaking her head, her expression turning serious. “No, they don’t. Eastbridge College’s acceptance letters have always been red.”

At this revelation, Ronald, who had been bewildered by Sebastian’s sudden urgency, froze in place. He vividly recalled the distinct green hue of Bella’s letter when they had seen it that day.

Eastbridge College had never, not once, issued green acceptance letters. So where on earth had Bella’s letter come from?

As the implications began to sink in, they both felt the color drain from their faces, their minds racing with dread.
