My Luna Became An Alpha After I Rejected Her novel Chapter 198

Chapter 198

“Aiden!” she yelled, pounding her fists against his back. “Put me down!”

He didn’t.

Her voice was sharp, desperate-but he couldn’t stop. His arms only tightened around her as he strode through the hall, jaw locked, heart hammering violently against his ribs. Every time her fists struck his back, his pulse surged higher, pain ran through his spine. Each blow wasn’t just anger…it was a reminder of how much she hated him.

And still, he refused to let go.

The bedroom door slammed behind them. He set her down…gently, like she was made of glass and then turned to lock the door with a quiet click. The key slid into his pocket.

Amelia’s chest rose and fell rapidly. “What do you think you’re doing, Aiden? This is kidnapping.”

He turned toward her, his eyes shadowed with exhaustion and something deeper….something unreadable.

“No, it’s not kidnapping,” he said, voice low. “I’m trying to protect you.”

She gave a bitter laugh. “Protect me? From what, exactly?”

He hesitated, his gaze softening for just a heartbeat. “From yourself.”

Her breath caught, then she scoffed, shaking her head. “You must be insane! You’re keeping me here against my will and still

have the nerve to say it’s for my protection? The only person I ned protection from is you!”

Her voice cracked on the last word, and for a brief second, silence flooded the room.

His jaw tightened. He didn’t move from the door.

“I don’t care what you say, Amelia,” he said quietly but firmly. “I’m not letting you leave. Not like this.”

Her hands curled into fists. Heat flared through her chest.

“Give me the damn keys, Aiden. Don’t provoke me.”

He didn’t even blink. “No.”

Her breath hitched in disbelief. Anger roared through her veins, burning reason away. She lunged at him, shoving her hand into his pocket…but his reflexes were faster. His hand shot out, caching her wrist mid-motion.

And suddenly, they were close.

Too close.

Her breath stuttered. His scent…warm, masculine, calming, faintly woody-wrapped around her like smoke, thick and intoxicating. His grip was firm but not cruel. When she looked up, their eyes collided.

The world seemed to stop spinning.

Heat coursed through her body, sharp and dizzying. Her wolf stred restlessly inside her, clawing against her chest, wild and yearning. The bond between them…denied, buried, cursed…crackled back to life with brutal force.

Aiden’s pulse thundered in his cars. Her glassy, defiant eyes were his undoing. His fingers twitched against her wrist, fighting every primal instinct screaming to pull her closer.

Amelia swallowed hard and yanked her hand free before she lost control. She stepped back, gasping for air that suddenly

felt too thick to breathe.

She knew at this moment she needed to leave, but she couldn’t have….not when Aiden still blocked the door.

She’d just lost her mother. She needed to get to her father. To Arthur. To Gloria.

And at this point she’d do anything to get that key.

Her voice softened, trembling. “I have to get back to Arthur and my dad. Please, Aiden… let me go.”

Aiden’s chest tightened. Her tone sliced through him like a blade…so small, so raw, so unlike her usual fire. In that moment, he didn’t see the fierce Alpha or the furious Luna.

He saw the woman who once curled into his chest and whispered she loved him.

He swallowed thickly, fighting back the urge that burned in his lood. His control was hanging by a thread. Then, with a low growl, he turned her back to face him, holding both her wrists firmly in his hands. Their gazes locked.

Heat burned between them like fire.

“Stop this before you start something you can’t finish,” he warned, voice rough and trembling. “Stop trying to seduce me… or I’ll give you exactly what you’re asking for.”

It wasn’t a threat. It was a promise-dark, raw, and desperate.

A shiver crawled up her spine. Her heart thudded wildly, too loud, too fast.

Then came the anger-at him, at herself, at the way her body betrayed her.

She’d just lost her mother, and here she was losing control.

“Asshole,” she muttered under her breath and struck his arm.

He growled…a sharp, guttural sound of pain and she froze.

“Aiden…” her voice wavered. “I-”

She stopped when she saw blood seeping through his sleeve, spreading quickly. Her anger melted into horror.

“Aiden… you’re bleeding.”

He turned away quickly, jaw clenched. “I’m fine.”

But his voice was strained, uneven. He wasn’t fine. Not even close

Before she could move, he strode across the room and disappeared into the bathroom, slamming the door behind him.

Amelia stood there, chest rising and falling, staring at the closed door.

The echo of his pain lingered in the air…along with the faint scent of blood and everything they were both too afraid to admit.
