My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 10

Seraphina paused.

Looking into what?

Was he investigating her?

"Don't worry, Mommy!" Little Bean quickly reassured her. "Daddy was digging into that scumbag! And that bad woman! He had his people dig up all their dirt!"

Seraphina: "..."

So this child could not only hear her inner thoughts, but also knew exactly what Lucian was doing?

"Yup, yup!" Little Bean sounded incredibly smug. "I just know things! Hehe!"

Seraphina was momentarily at a loss for words.

Was this baby sent here to bless her, or to terrify her?

Just then, her cell phone started ringing.

Seraphina glanced at the caller ID. It was Samuel.

She hesitated for a second before finally answering.

"Seraphina Simmons! Where the hell are you?!"

Samuel's voice roared through the speaker, thick with suppressed rage. "You get back here right this instant! You owe the Sullivan family an explanation for what you pulled yesterday!"

Seraphina gripped her phone, her tone entirely calm. "An explanation for what?"

Samuel's voice shot up a few octaves. "You canceled the wedding in front of the entire city and spouted absolute nonsense about Sienna being pregnant with Sebastian's child! Do you have any idea how furious the Sullivans are?! They're threatening to pull out of our partnership. Our latest project is about to go up in smoke!"

Seraphina let out a quiet laugh.

"Has it ever occurred to you that if Sienna wasn't actually carrying his child, she would have gone to the hospital with me yesterday for a paternity test?"

The other end of the line went quiet for a moment.

"Don't try to change the subject!" Samuel yelled, though he clearly sounded less confident. "You come home right now, go to the Sullivan estate, apologize, and smooth this whole thing over!"

"You... you think you're untouchable now? You really think you've secured a spot in the Langford family? Just wait until you get thrown out..."

Seraphina cut him off directly. "You don't need to worry about my life. If the company's project fails because of this, you should go look for the real culprits instead of screaming at me. After all, Sebastian was the one who betrayed our engagement first, and your precious stepdaughter was the one who got knocked up with his kid."

Without waiting for a response, Seraphina hung up.

Her phone rang a few more times, but she ignored it.

"Beautifully done, Mommy! Don't worry, Daddy will never abandon you," Little Bean cheered.

Seraphina smiled. In truth, she had already made peace with it.

From the moment she walked away from that altar, she had given up any remaining hope she had for the Simmons family.

That chapter of her life was officially over.

Just then, a soft knock came from the door.
