By the time Zelda stepped out of the hospital room, the worry on her face had completely vanished.
Instead of rushing home, she headed straight to the shopping mall.
Two hours later, she returned to the hospital carrying multiple shopping bags and pushed open the door to the room.
Sienna was leaning against the headboard, her face pale. Seeing the bags in her mother's hands, she frowned. "Mom, what's all this?"
Zelda dumped the contents onto the bed. Out tumbled several loose maternity dresses and a prosthetic silicone pregnant belly.
Zelda picked up the silicone belly and weighed it in her hands. "I had someone track this down specifically for you. Once you put it on, it looks exactly like the real thing. No one will be able to tell the difference."
Startled, Sienna reached out and squeezed the fake bump. The texture was incredibly realistic.
Zelda lowered her voice. "Think about it. If the Sullivans find out the baby is gone now, our plan fails before it even starts."
"So, until the time is right, no one can know you lost the baby."
"You have to stay pregnant."
Sienna remained silent for a moment before slowly nodding.
She understood exactly what her mother meant.
She had to fake the pregnancy until the perfect opportunity arose to frame Seraphina in front of the Sullivans.
When that happened, she would stage her 'miscarriage', and everything would fall flawlessly into place.
Sienna hesitated. "But Mom, I can't just hide indoors forever."
Zelda smiled confidently. "Don't worry about that; I've already figured it out. From now on, you'll claim the doctor ordered strict bed rest, meaning you can't see any guests."
"I'll handle the Sullivans. I'll tell them your condition is unstable and you need complete peace and quiet."
"Once you recover physically in a few days, we'll find an excuse to make the 'accident' happen."
