"I'm not playing you." Sebastian looked up, his gaze locking onto hers with absolute sincerity. "I cut ties with her a long time ago. She's just obsessively clinging to me."

"Is that so? Then why didn't you just tell her to get out the second she walked in? Why drag her out into the hallway for a private chat? Were you afraid of embarrassing her, or were you afraid of embarrassing me?"

Sebastian opened his mouth, but the words died in his throat.

Yolanda watched him, her voice deliberate and slow. "You're a smart man, Sebastian. You know exactly what I want. And I have zero interest in a man who still has someone else living in his head."

"There is no one else," Sebastian muttered, his voice tight.

"Whether there is or not is something only you know." Yolanda stood up and grabbed her purse. "I think we're done here for tonight. I'm leaving."

"Yolanda—"

"Don't bother seeing me out." She held up a hand to stop him. When she reached the door, she paused and looked back over her shoulder. "Figure out what you really want before you come looking for me again, Sebastian. I'm in no rush."

With that, she opened the door and walked out.

Sebastian sat alone in the room, surrounded by food that had gone entirely cold.

He picked up his glass, drained the rest of his drink in one swallow, and slammed the glass down on the table.

Sienna.

Yolanda.

Seraphina.

The three women swirled in his head, a chaotic mess that left him completely suffocated.

He grabbed his phone, intending to text Yolanda. He typed out a few lines, deleted them, and finally tossed the phone aside, closing his eyes.

Yolanda was a brilliant woman. She knew exactly what to say, what to hold back, and when to walk away.

A woman like that was perfectly suited to be a wife.

Sebastian's brow furrowed in deep irritation.
