My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 28

The door slammed shut.

Sebastian sat in his chair, staring fixedly at the ashtray on the table, his eyes darkening with a terrifying, predatory malice.

*Seraphina.*

*Just you wait.*

*Did you really think marrying into the Langford family guarantees your safety?*

*The Langford family is a brutal shark tank.*

*You think an outsider like you can ever survive there?*

*Keep dreaming.*

He grabbed his phone and punched in a number.

......

Seraphina returned from the mall carrying a few shopping bags.

Susan hurried over to take the bags from her hands. "Welcome back, Ma'am! Did you have a good time shopping?"

"It was alright," Seraphina smiled. "By the way, Susan, has Lucian—has Sir come back?"

"Sir is still at the office. He mentioned he had a business dinner and wouldn't be home to eat," Susan paused. "But he specifically ordered me to make sure you have a proper meal, even if you're eating alone."

Seraphina nodded. "I will."

She went upstairs, changed her clothes, and began hanging her new maternity wear in the walk-in closet.

The Langford master closet was massive. One entire half was exclusively filled with men's clothing—dark suits and crisp dress shirts arranged so perfectly they looked like a high-end retail display.

The other half had been completely empty until now. With just her few new items hanging there, it looked starkly deserted.

Staring at the massive closet, Seraphina was suddenly struck by an overwhelming sense of unreality.

She really was married to Lucian Langford.

The legendary tycoon of the city's business world, the youngest leader the Langford empire had ever seen.

Seraphina ate her lunch and then went to take a nap.

She had been walking around the mall for quite a while, and the exhaustion was catching up to her.

When she woke up later that afternoon, she saw a text message from Lucian on her phone: "Make sure you rest."

Seraphina typed back a single word: "Okay."
