My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 35

The strike was brutal. A stark, red handprint instantly bloomed across Seraphina's cheek.

A searing, burning pain exploded across her skin.

But with that single slap, whatever microscopic shred of familial love she still harbored for him vanished entirely.

Perfect.

Now they were completely done.

Her head snapped to the side from the force, the handprint glaring against her luminous skin.

She didn't clutch her face, and she certainly didn't cry. Instead, she slowly turned her head back, locking her gaze directly onto Samuel.

Her eyes were dead and empty, devoid of anger, grievance, or even hatred.

And it was that chilling, absolute calm that sent a sudden shudder down Samuel's spine.

"Mommy, he's a monster! How could he hit you?! Does it hurt?" Little Bean cried out, sounding as though he wanted to leap out and beat the man to a pulp.

"Are you done?" Seraphina asked, her voice eerily flat.

Samuel's lips moved, but no words came out.

He had acted on pure impulse, completely losing his mind for a split second.

The moment his hand connected, reality crashed back down on him.

"Can I leave now?" she asked again.

"Seraphina... I..." Samuel reached out, desperately trying to explain himself, but Seraphina swiftly recoiled from his touch.

That flinching motion stung worse than any insult.

Standing to the side, a flash of pure, unadulterated glee crossed Sienna's eyes.

This was amazing. They didn't even have to lift a finger, and Dad had already delivered a brutal slap on their behalf.

It was immensely satisfying!

But she instantly masked it with a look of deep concern, rushing forward with an anxious expression. "Dad, how could you hit her? Why couldn't we just talk this out?"
