My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 383

Melody's arms hung rigidly at her sides, her fists tightly coiled as hatred practically spilled from her eyes.

On the other end of the line, Landon Langford let out a cold chuckle. "It's fine. You've already thrown a wrench into their relationship lately. Now we just sit back and watch the show."

Melody paused, asking tentatively, "Is this really enough? Do you need me to do anything else?"

"No. Anything more would be overkill." Landon paused, glancing out the window. "I saw there's a new art exhibition opening soon. Want to check it out?"

Melody bit her lip, hesitating.

She was finding it harder to read him. Was Landon just using her, or did he genuinely have feelings for her?

"Too busy?" Landon asked casually when she didn't respond.

Melody panicked, terrified he might actually rescind the offer.

"No, I have time."

Hearing the urgency in her voice, Landon sounded thoroughly amused. "I'll text you the address."

"Okay."

Melody hung up, leaving the mall in high spirits.

...

When Seraphina and Lucian arrived back at Langford Manor, they heard the commotion before they even reached the living room.

Evie was crying hysterically, demanding that Eleanor Langford kick Seraphina out of the house.

Eleanor's troubled voice drifted out. "Evie, Sera is a wonderful girl. You just haven't spent enough time with her yet."

"Give it a little time. I'm sure you'll grow to like her."

Instead of calming her down, the older woman's words only set Evie off further. "Grandma Eleanor, you're just like Lucian! You're both taking that woman's side! She came from nowhere, and she used to be engaged to another man. She's damaged goods. A woman like her doesn't deserve to be a part of the Langford family..."

"Shut up!"

Lucian's icy roar echoed from the doorway.

Both Evie and Eleanor turned toward the entrance.
