My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 384

As Seraphina walked away, the voices in the living room flared up again.

Evie was still yelling, but it had nothing to do with her anymore.

She found a quiet spot at the gazebo just outside the Manor grounds.

"Mommy, are you okay?" Little Bean's concerned voice echoed in her mind.

"I'm fine," Seraphina replied inwardly. "I've been through a lot. This kind of petty drama isn't enough to get under my skin."

"That's great."

Suddenly, a shadow fell over her.

Assuming Lucian had caught up, Seraphina looked up, only to find a complete stranger standing there.

"Hello. Who might you be?" she asked politely.

The man offered a courteous smile and held out a business card. "Hello. I'm York Zeller. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Seraphina made no move to take the card. "Do we know each other?"

York chuckled softly. "We didn't before, but we do now."

Seraphina raised an eyebrow. She understood perfectly.

He was deliberately trying to get close to her.

Seeing her lack of reaction, York pressed on. "If you ever need anything, feel free to call me. Things Lucian can't give you, I probably can."

He pushed the card a little closer.

Seraphina still didn't take it. Instead, she pulled out her phone and texted Lucian: "I'm waiting at the gazebo outside. You have exactly ten minutes. If you're not here, I'm leaving without you."

She wasn't about to give him infinite grace.

If he didn't show up in ten minutes, she would genuinely walk away.

Putting the phone back in her pocket, Seraphina finally looked back at the man still standing there. "Mr. Zeller, was it?"

"Whatever I need, I take it myself. I don't rely on handouts from others."
