"Mommy, the email! Look, it's here!" Little Bean urged.
Seraphina chuckled and gently patted his back. "Why are you more nervous than I am?"
Little Bean's inner voice chimed in. "Oh, stop talking and just open it!"
"Alright, alright, pipe down."
Seraphina shifted Little Bean's weight, cradling him in her left arm while using her right hand to click open the email.
"Mommy, what does it say? Hurry and tell me!"
Seraphina glanced down at the overly excited infant. It was the first time she had seen Little Bean this worked up.
"Patience. I'm reading it now."
Seraphina opened the document and studied it carefully.
The report indicated that York Zeller and Melody Monroe had no direct interactions on the surface.
However, Seraphina noticed a crucial detail. A subsidiary of Aurora Tech, owned by York Zeller, had received an anonymous cash injection three months ago. The amount wasn't massive, but the registered address of the funding party heavily overlapped with a property owned by the Monroe family.
Seraphina reasoned aloud, "If Melody Monroe was the mastermind behind the photo incident, what's her motive?"
"To sabotage my relationship with Lucian? Or is she playing a part in a much larger chess game?"
She recalled the sight of Landon Langford and Melody walking together at the christening celebration.
If Landon wanted to seize power, destabilizing Lucian's personal life would be the perfect first step.
"Mommy, I think your deduction makes perfect sense."
"That Landon guy is clearly bad news. He's been eyeing the CEO position of The Langford Group this whole time!" Little Bean waved his tiny fists at the thought of Landon.
"Mommy, hurry up and tell Daddy!"
Seraphina pondered for a moment. "I'm not going to tell him just yet. He gave me three days, and I want to dig a little deeper first."
Little Bean sighed. "Fine, have it your way."
Seraphina pulled out her phone, adjusting the angle to snap a selfie of her and Little Bean.
"Mommy, what are you doing?"
"Posting an update."
