My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 529

Seraphina glanced at the caller ID and picked up.

"You're here?"

A woman's voice came through the line. "Almost."

Seraphina stood up. "I'll come down to get you."

"Don't you dare. We wouldn't make S come down for us. We're already at the entrance."

Seraphina closed her folder, turned around, and walked toward the exit.

The moment she left, the guy sitting in her old chair scoffed. "She's leaving just like that?"

Someone nearby chimed in, "She probably couldn't handle it. Off to go cry to Mr. Langford, I bet."

"Stripped of her power this morning, kicked out of her desk this afternoon. Who wouldn't be losing their mind?"

Seymour stood in the doorway of his office with his coffee, watching the scene without stopping them.

Melody smiled gently. "Let's not jump to conclusions. Seraphina might not be going to Mr. Langford."

"You're too nice, Melody. Who else would she go to?"

"Even if Mr. Langford dotes on her, he can't exactly replace the entire division."

Melody lowered her eyes.

If Lucian intervened, it would give Landon exactly the ammunition he needed.

The more wronged Seraphina felt, the better.

It would be perfect if she went crying to Lucian and begged him for help.

She wanted everyone to see that the so-called 'Lead Simmons' was nothing but an empty vessel relying on a man's backing.

When Seraphina reached the elevator lobby, she saw six people stepping out.

The leader was a girl with short hair, carrying a laptop and with a black jacket casually draped over her shoulders. Her sharp eyes lit up as she raised a hand. "S."

Seraphina walked over. "Winona."

Winona Jacobs bumped her shoulder affectionately. "It's about time you remembered us. When S calls, who would dare be late?"

Zachary Quinn, adjusting his black-rimmed glasses, smiled. "Boss, Langford Group's security is no joke. When we dropped your name, the front desk looked at us like we were running a scam."

Xavier York flashed his temporary badge. "Good thing they're professionals, or they might've tossed us out on the street."

Seraphina looked at the group. "Thanks for coming."

Winona clicked her tongue. "Don't be polite when you're calling us in for a job. It's weird."

Seraphina did a quick roll call. "Zachary, Xavier, Zander, Leona, Gabe. Everyone made it?"

Gabe Xavier, clutching a coffee, grinned. "When the boss gives an order, I show up. Otherwise, Winona would chew me out."

Winona shot him a glare. "Like I need an excuse to chew you out?"
