My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 537

Seraphina looked at Winona. "No."

Gabe chimed in, "Then can we score a free dinner?"

Seraphina stuffed the documents into her bag. "Finish the rest of the work first."

Gabe slumped his shoulders. "Capitalist."

Seraphina glanced at him. "I'll expense the coffee."

Gabe immediately sat up straight, squeezing out a flattering smile at Seraphina. "Thanks, Boss."

Melody walked past them, her grip tightening on her files as she heard their laughter.

Landon was waiting at the door, his gaze landing on her face. "You lost?"

Melody stopped and shot him a cold glare. "You saw."

Asking the obvious!

Landon chuckled. "Losing to Seraphina isn't a disgrace."

Melody looked at him. "Are you comforting me, or reminding me?"

Landon slipped his phone back into his pocket. "Both."

Melody bit her lip. "What makes her so special?"

Landon glanced toward the conference room. Seraphina was surrounded by Winona and the others, while Lucian waited a short distance away. Even though he didn't approach, his gaze was glued tightly to Seraphina.

He withdrew his gaze. "Because Lucian fancies her."

Melody's face darkened.

Landon added, "There's a charity gala tomorrow. The Monroes received an invitation as well. If you want to win back your pride from today, you still have a chance."

Melody looked up.

Landon gave a lazy smile. "Losing at a tech pitch doesn't mean you lose in every arena."

The grip on her documents slowly loosened.

On the other side, Seraphina was stopped by Lucian the moment she stepped out of the conference room.

"Sera."

She paused. "Yeah?"

Lucian looked at her. "Let's go home together."

Winona tactfully stepped back. "I won't interrupt the boss rewarding his employees."

Seraphina shot her a look. "Keep it down."

Winona held up her laptop. "I'm going to work."

The elevator doors closed, leaving only three people in the confined space.

Christian stood in the corner, trying his best to blend into the scenery.
