My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 546

Lucian swept a glance over her ruined dress. "The score for shredding your dress, scaling out of a window, and crawling into a men's restroom."

Jules chimed in while viciously prying the door. "Lucian, for the record, I didn't do anything, I didn't see anything. I am completely innocent."

Lucian shot him an icy glare.

Jules instantly snapped his mouth shut and focused on prying the door.

Just then, Evie rounded the corner, originally intending to touch up her makeup.

She looked up and froze—Seraphina, looking utterly disheveled and draped in Lucian's jacket, was standing outside the men's restroom, with Jules right beside her.

Her voice spiked an octave. "Seraphina! What did you do to betray my brother?!"

Everyone in the corridor whipped their heads around.

Seraphina didn't even bat an eye. "Shut up."

Evie stormed forward. "You walked out of the men's bathroom looking like that, with Jules standing right there! Do you think I'm blind?!"

The pry bar in Jules's hands nearly slipped. "Evie, read the damn room before you open your mouth."

Evie refused to back down. "Lucian, she looks like this and you're still defending her?!"

Lucian's voice cracked like a whip. "Evie!"

Evie's heart lurched, but she stubbornly clung to her accusation. "Am I wrong?!"

Seraphina placed a restraining hand on Lucian's arm and turned her chilling gaze on Evie. "Someone is having an asthma attack inside. The door was locked from the outside. I climbed through the ventilation shaft to the next room to get help. If you want to throw a tantrum, wait until the person dies, and then you can go explain it to the Harrisons."

Evie's face went ghastly pale. "The Harrisons?"

With a final, brutal wrench from Jules, the lock snapped.

As the heavy door swung open, Gillian was found slumped against the frame, terrifyingly pale. She barely managed to pry her eyes open at the commotion.

Seraphina moved to step inside, but Lucian caught her arm. "I'll have someone else go in."

"She recognizes me."

Seraphina pulled free of his grip and quickly dropped to a crouch beside Gillian. "Gillian, the medicine is almost here."

Gillian's lips parted weakly. "You got out."

"Yeah, Jules lent a hand in the men's room. You're lucky you're tough."

Jules stood in the doorway, his expression a complicated mix of emotions.

Christian rushed over with Gillian's assistant in tow. The assistant, clutching the emergency inhaler, took one look at Gillian's condition and burst into tears. "Ms. Harrison!"

Seraphina moved aside. "Give her the medication first."
