Sienna shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "I don't know! If I'm not your daughter, then whose am I?"
"I grew up in the Simmons household! You've loved and spoiled me for twenty years. How can you doubt me over a single piece of paper?"
Seraphina finally spoke up. "He never needed evidence to doubt anyone."
Samuel whipped his head toward her. "What is that supposed to mean?"
Instead of answering him, Seraphina pulled a manila envelope from her bag and tossed it onto the bedside table. "You're not exactly a genius, just marginally smarter than an absolute fool."
Seeing the envelope, Zelda's face turned completely ghostly. "When did you start investigating?"
"The day I saw you and Barney Briggs slinking around together again."
Zelda gasped, too terrified to speak.
Samuel snatched the envelope, his hands trembling so violently it took him several tries to tear it open.
A thick stack of photos spilled out, scattering all over the white hospital sheets.
The images were utterly obscene—every single one featured Zelda in highly compromising, intimate positions with men.
The most sickening part was that the men beside Zelda kept changing.
Samuel shook with such blind fury he couldn't even grip the glossy paper, letting the photos slide onto the floor.
"Zelda Gates, are you really that desperate for attention? Can you not survive a single day without a man in your bed?!"
There was one last document inside the envelope.
Samuel yanked it out furiously. It was a certified paternity test.
The subjects were Samuel Simmons and Seraphina Simmons.
The conclusion printed in bold letters was undeniable: The probability of biological paternity is 99.99%.
Samuel stared at that single line of text. His grip loosened, and the report slipped onto his blanket.
Seraphina looked down at him. "You spent your entire life convinced my mother was cheating, so you replaced her with this woman. Turns out, she's the filthiest one of all."
Zelda lunged forward to claw the photos away, but Christian blocked her.
"Ms. Gates, fighting over evidence is incredibly undignified."
Zelda shrieked in absolute hysteria. "Seraphina! You set me up! This is a trap!"
Seraphina rolled her eyes. "Did I force you to open your legs for other men behind your husband's back?"
