Manager Charles Chambers walked past Melody with Seraphina and Tiffany, smiling as he told Tiffany, "Of course. You are Ms. Simmons's friend, which makes you our VIP as well."
Tiffany deliberately shot a glance in Melody's direction and smirked. "Even without a VIP card?"
Charles smiled warmly. "Absolutely. You're practically family."
"Oh, well, thank you. I do love being treated like one of your own."
Tiffany intentionally raised her voice on the last few words.
Melody's fists curled tightly at her sides, a surge of pure resentment burning through her.
Evie's face flushed with anger.
Was this Manager Charles blind? How could he blatantly ignore Melody just to cater to Seraphina?
What right did Seraphina have to outshine Melody?
"Manager Charles, is it?"
Evie suddenly spoke up.
Charles paused. He turned to Evie, offering a polite, professional smile. "Hello. How may I help you?"
Evie crossed her arms, glaring at him coldly. "We have a VIP card, yet you refuse to let us in while allowing two women without one to bypass the wait."
"Are you trying to take advantage of your loyal customers?"
"Running a restaurant like this is a complete failure."
She deliberately looked back at the crowd waiting in line, raising her voice. "Look at this, everyone! The manager here plays favorites and bullies his regular customers."
The crowd immediately turned their attention toward Evie.
Evie lifted her chin smugly, staring Charles down. "So, how do you plan to resolve this?"
Charles stared at her in disbelief, never having encountered someone so blatantly unreasonable.
"Manager Charles, let it go. If this puts you in a difficult position, we can just leave," Seraphina offered gently.
Charles frowned, shooting a displeased look at Evie.
