She was genuinely startled.
But there was no way she was going to let Seraphina intimidate her that easily.
"Seraphina, who do you think you are..."
"Evie," Melody finally spoke up, pulling Evie back gently and whispering, "Forget it. It's just a meal. There's no need to ruin everyone's mood. Let's just go."
Evie shot Seraphina a venomous glare and stubbornly snapped, "No. I am eating here."
"If she can go in and eat, why can't I?"
Tiffany looked at Evie, rolled her eyes, and muttered, "What a stubborn mule."
"How do you tolerate her?"
Seraphina looked away, completely uninterested in entertaining the drama. "Forget it. Let's not waste our breath."
People like Evie were the type who would take a mile if you gave them an inch.
Continuing to argue with her now would only play right into Melody's hands.
"Let's go." Seraphina turned to Charles. "Manager Charles, please lead the way."
Charles nodded slightly, glanced at Evie dismissively, and said nothing more as he escorted Seraphina and Tiffany inside.
Evie stared at Seraphina's retreating back, her face so dark with fury it looked like a thunderstorm was brewing.
Melody gently squeezed Evie's hand. "Evie, you were a little too impulsive just now. Even if Seraphina really did use some shady trick to get in, calling her out so bluntly will only make her upset with you."
Evie stubbornly jutted out her chin. "So what if she's upset? Does she think she's invincible just because Lucian has her back?"
Watching Evie fume, a flicker of amusement danced in Melody's eyes.
She didn't even have to do anything. All she had to do was keep fanning the flames, and Evie would gladly do her dirty work in taking down Seraphina.
