My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 6

That smile didn't reach his eyes. It was chillingly cold.

"Heh," he said. "Ms. Simmons, very bold. Trying to make me your fall guy? Do you know where the last person who spoke to me like that ended up?"

Samuel's knees buckled, and he nearly collapsed onto the floor.

Seraphina dug her nails into her palms.

It hurt.

But pain was good. The pain kept her lucid.

"Mommy, don't be scared!" Little Bean's voice echoed urgently in her womb. It was soft and sweet, but packed with reckless courage. "I am one hundred percent Daddy's boy! As long as you can prove it, he won't ignore you!"

"With Daddy backing us, they won't dare bully you! Then you'll be Mrs. Langford!"

Seraphina offered a bitter smile in her mind.

How was she supposed to prove it?

She had blurted it out in a moment of panic. Now she was flying completely blind, with no idea what her next step should be.

Samuel stormed over, his face flushed a deep purple. "You wretched girl! If you keep spouting this nonsense, you'll get our entire family killed!"

Seraphina ignored him.

She was desperately trying to recall the details of that night. Just a fragment, just one visual cue.

"Mr. Langford," she began, her voice remarkably calm. "Do you remember what happened three months ago in the presidential suite at The Phoenix Club?"

Lucian's faint smile vanished.

"Ms. Simmons, do you really think you can just spin a fairy tale and latch onto the Langford family?"

"I'm not making this up. You were drugged that night. Do you have any memory of it?"

"Proof."

Just one word, leaving absolutely no room for negotiation.

"Mommy, think! Did you see anything special that night?!" Little Bean yelled in a panic.

Seraphina's eyes flashed with realization.

She took a step forward.

She was very close to Lucian.

Close enough to smell the crisp scent of cedarwood radiating off him.

Then, she stood slightly on her tiptoes, leaning in toward his ear, and whispered as softly as a wisp of smoke:

Lucian Langford, the ruthless tycoon who never let women near him, actually...

Sebastian's face was livid. He tried to lunge forward, but two bodyguards pinned his arms, rendering him immobile.

"Mr. Langford! You can't believe her! She's a crazy woman—"

Sienna stood off to the side, looking as pale as a ghost.

She glared at Seraphina, her eyes filled with disbelief and venomous jealousy.

That bastard child... How could that bastard belong to Lucian Langford?!

It was absolutely impossible!

Lucian looked down at Seraphina, his tone softening slightly. "Is the child you're carrying truly mine?"

Seraphina didn't speak. She just met his gaze and slowly nodded.

Little Bean's voice popped up again, sweet and incredibly smug:

"Mommy, don't be afraid! I am definitely Daddy's boy!"

"Once you guys get together, I'll teach you exactly how to wrap Daddy around your little finger! I promise!"
