Lucian stared at Seraphina for three solid seconds.
His eyes were like bottomless pools, revealing absolutely no emotion.
Then, he suddenly shrugged off his jacket. As everyone watched in utter shock, he draped his custom-made, wildly expensive suit jacket over Seraphina's shoulders.
The jacket, still carrying his body heat and the scent of cedar, wrapped warmly around her exposed skin.
Seraphina blinked in surprise.
"Let's go."
Two words, simple and commanding.
Lucian wrapped his arm around her waist. His grip wasn't harsh, but it carried an undeniable, forceful authority.
Before Seraphina could fully process what was happening, he was already leading her toward the exit.
Behind them, Sebastian thrashed like a madman. "Mr. Langford! You can't take her! She's my fiancée—"
The bodyguards held him back effortlessly.
Samuel's legs gave out, and he collapsed onto his knees.
"It's over... It's all over..."
Had he just offended Mr. Langford?
Damn it, who would have thought that wretched daughter of his possessed such leverage?
Seeing this, Sienna dug her nails so hard into her palms that they drew blood.
Why?
What gave that bitch Seraphina the right to climb into bed with Lucian Langford?!
Zelda grabbed her daughter's arm tight, whispering fiercely, "Stop staring. Let's go!"
"Mom—"
"Move!" Zelda's eyes were ruthless. "The situation is against us right now, but that little tramp won't be living it up for long. The doors to the Langford family aren't that easy to walk through. She's just stepped right into the lion's den. Let's just wait and see!"
Everyone knew how treacherous the waters of the Langford family were.
Surviving in that kind of elite wealth was no walk in the park.
How could a useless woman like Seraphina ever secure a foothold there?
Sienna shivered, finally regaining a shred of clarity.
She was right!
How could she have forgotten?
Did that bitch really think bagging a Langford meant she could sleep soundly?
Hah!
Outside the hotel, a sleek black Maybach was already idling by the steps.
Lucian suddenly spoke, his deep voice cutting through her spiraling thoughts.
Seraphina pressed her lips together. "I was drugged. I went into the wrong room."
"Drugged?"
"Sebastian set it up. He wanted to hire someone to ruin my reputation so he could blackmail me forever. But I went to the wrong door and ended up in your room."
Lucian turned his head and looked at her.
His gaze was calm, yet it felt as if it could see right through her soul.
"So you're saying you were drugged, wandered into my room, and then—"
He paused, not finishing the sentence.
Seraphina's face flushed crimson.
She suddenly remembered what Little Bean had said. "You threw yourself at him, sparks flew..."
"I..." Seraphina's voice shrank into a whisper. "I don't really remember."
It was the truth.
Her memories of that night were fractured and broken. She only remembered the intense heat, the pain, and the heavy, ragged breathing in her ear.
Lucian stared at her for a few seconds before letting out a soft chuckle.
"You don't really remember, yet you perfectly recalled the birthmark on my hip?"
