Just then, Evie hurried back inside, clutching something tightly in her hand.
The moment she spotted Seraphina, she instinctively hid the object behind her back.
"Evie, where did you wander off to?" Eleanor asked, eyeing her suspiciously.
"I just went to grab a delivery."
Evie shifted awkwardly before finally pulling the small item out from behind her back.
She marched straight up to Seraphina and thrust it forward. "This... is for you."
Seraphina blinked in surprise, staring at the small box in the younger woman's hand.
Reading the label, she raised an eyebrow. "Scar cream?"
"Yeah," Evie muttered, meeting her gaze for a split second before looking away. "I got it for you. Use it once the burn heals."
Without waiting for a response, she shoved the cream into Seraphina's palm.
Seraphina gripped the small tube. It felt practically weightless, yet held immense significance.
"Thank you," Seraphina said softly.
"Don't mention it."
With that, Evie turned on her heel and bolted up the stairs.
Watching the exchange, Eleanor let out a hearty laugh. "Wonderful."
"Grandma Eleanor, we'll be heading out now," Lucian announced.
The older woman nodded warmly. "Go on, then. Text me when you get home."
"Will do," Seraphina replied, taking Little Bean's tiny hand and waving it. "Say goodbye to Great-Grandma."
The baby blew another small bubble and let out a string of happy babbling.
*Goodbye, Great-Grandma.*
Eleanor's heart absolutely melted at the sight.
"You have to bring him over more often, you hear?"
"We will."
After they finally settled into the SUV, Eleanor remained standing in the driveway, watching until the taillights disappeared before turning to head inside.
